Imagination PowerVR GX6450

PowerVR G6450 от компании Imagination Technologies является мощным видеоадаптером для ARM-чипов и используется в чипе Apple A8 (смартфоны Apple iPhone 6 и 6 Plus). Он появился в третьем квартале 2014 года и на момент выпуска являлся одним из самых быстрых в своем классе.

Архитектура и производительность

Графическое ядро основано на унифицированной шейдерной архитектуре PowerVR Series 6XT (Rogue) и включает четыре кластера, каждый из которых содержит 2 текстурных блока и 32 вычислительных ядра FP32. Таким образом, производительность с максимальной точностью вычислений (FP32) не отличается от G6430 (те же четыре кластера) в чипе Apple A7. Однако не менее важная производительность с половинной точностью, FP16, значительно увеличилась благодаря дополнительным ядрам FP16.

В iPhone 6, рабочая частота ядра составляет около 450 МГц, что на максимальной точности (FP32) обеспечивает около 115 GFLOPS. GX6450 намного быстрее Qualcomm Adreno 330 и примерно равен по мощности Adreno 420. Он уступает только видеоускорителю Tegra K1 и PowerVR GX550 в чипе Apple A8X, позволяя играть в любые игры в Apple App Store и высокое разрешение дисплеев современных устройств Apple не является для него проблемой. Имеется поддержка OpenGL 3.x/4.x, OpenGL ES 3.0 и DirectX 10.

Энергопотребление

Благодаря относительно низкой рабочей частоте и продвинутому 20-нм техпроцессу, GX6450 крайне энергоэффективен. Единственный недостаток - сравнительно большая площадь чипа.
