This is a premium sub-$1,000 Ultrabook with Intel EVO certification that runs Windows 10 on Intel 11th gen Ice Lake CPUs with Intel Iris Xe graphics and it has a full HD touch screen with Wacom AES active pen support. We look at the $799 model that has a sandblasted aluminum casing, Core i5 and a fast NVMe M.2 SSD. It has a high capacity battery for long runtimes, a webcam privacy shutter and fingerprint scanner. It’s the successor to the Lenovo C740. It competes with the HP Envy x360 and Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 models.

The Lenovo Yoga 7i is an impressive machine, not just due to its 2-in-1 capabilities but also considering how portable it is, while still packing a punch in the processing department. The construction is firm and a bit rigid around the hinge but it posed no problems with the opening and closing of the lid. The Yoga 7i is as light as a 14-inch laptop can get and is backed up by a decent battery to see it through a day of usage. While my review unit is priced at Rs 99,990, the i5 version of the device carries a \ price tag of Rs 85,990. I think that the Yoga 7i is a compelling everyday machine with the right balance of performance, style, and portability and as such is on top of my recommendations list. You have the option to go with bulkier contenders like the Asus TUF F15 or the Dell G5 (review) for a better gaming experience or switch to the M1 MacBook Air… but if your work doesn’t involve a lot of graphics-related tasks and you want to take the Windows route, the Yoga 7i should suffice easily.

The Lenovo 7i 16 is a great laptop for anyone who wants a larger screen but doesn't want to sacrifice style, I say this as often 16-inch devices can often look and feel like cumbersome stationary devices. The 7i 16-inch looks and feels like a slightly larger version of Lenovo's flagship consumer 9i laptop. The 7i retains all the things that make the 9i a flagship while offering configuration options that are a bit more considerate of someone's budget, while keeping a baseline quality standard. Who the devices aren't for, are gamers or anyone who uses specialized graphical applications. While a year over year leap a couple of years ago, the Iris Xe graphics still fall short of a content creators' day-in and day-out dream. The throttling from either the U-Series and EVO specifications or simply Lenovo's Vantage software also means users will need to be mindful of their usage, especially unplugged.

Generally speaking, 15.6-inch and 16-inch convertible laptops are awfully unwieldy for use as tablets, but they shine when pivoted to easel or kiosk more for presentations and can take touch interaction further than a smaller notebook. If your budget permits we prefer the HP Spectre x360 16's dazzling OLED display, but the Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 Gen 7 is a great alternative and a superbly well-made solution for anyone seeking a larger 2-in-1.

Some notebooks these days require us to nit-pick so hard… this is the case with the Yoga 7i (14″, 2022), which is one of the most solid 14-inch convertibles on the market. Its redesign makes it feel fresh, while the feature package is beyond impressive. Lenovo has paired it with a quad-stereo speaker setup and provides you with not one, but two biometric authentication sensors – a fingerprint reader, and an IR face recognition scanner. Furthermore, the latter is working in conjunction with a 1080p Web camera, which is an improvement by itself. Add a privacy shutter to the mix, and you end up with a rather secure and private little machine. Lenovo Yoga 7i (14″, 2022)’s 2.2K IPS panel has comfortable viewing angles and a very high contrast ratio. It covers 97% of the sRGB color gamut, which is pretty wide and results in a rather vibrant color output. Furthermore, it doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. What is equally important for creators and designers is that the color accuracy is right within the sRGB standard.

The port assortment is just enough, with two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a microSD card slot and an HDMI out on the left, and a headset jack and USB-A port on the right. I really wish laptop-makers would be better about separating USB-C ports, having at least one on each side. Not only is it more flexible for charging, but it also makes connecting docks and adapters easier. It's certainly not a deal-breaker but it is an annoyance nonetheless. When it comes to an all-around excellent laptop for most people, Apple's MacBook Air is regularly our go-to recommendation. The Lenovo Yoga 7i Gen 7 gets a similar vote when it comes to two-in-one convertibles. From its design to its features to its performance and battery life, it's a great choice. And if you can get it for less than $1,000, it's an amazing value, too.

If you're buying a midrange laptop and like the promise of versatility from a convertible, this is the one to get. We also said last year's model was the best midranger, and it's made better by the OLED being the only available configuration in the U.S. Elsewhere, you should still skip the IPS panel (it's not good), but you could go for the 2.8K OLED if you want higher resolution and a faster refresh rate. Lenovo's pricing is constantly shifting, but as tested, you can get this laptop for under $930 directly from the manufacturer, an even better value than last year's model. How often can you say that the new thing is cheaper than the old one, especially during economic uncertainty? You'll want the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 variant; the 340 version has a weaker GPU and is overall slower, but they have the same typing feel and a touchpad that feels like it's glass (it's not) and nails the basics that anyone could ask from a midrange device.

My version of the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 can be bought from Best Buy for $1,200. If you're looking to save money, Lenovo is selling a lower-spec model for $900 on its official website. I would recommend either configuration to anyone looking for a big-screen work laptop. If you want something smaller, the Dell 14 Plus is the way to go.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.

Intel Iris Xe G7 80EUs: Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в некоторые процессоры Intel семейства Tiger Lake. Задействует графическую архитектуру Intel двенадцатого поколения, она же Xe. Располагает 80 кластерами унифицированных шейдеров (EU). Тактовая частота зависит от конкретной модели ЦП. Изготавливается на 10-нанометровом производстве Intel в его втором поколении.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в некоторые процессоры Intel семейства Tiger Lake. Задействует новую архитектуру 12 поколения, располагает 96 кластерами унифицированных шейдеров. Максимальная частота разная в зависимости от конкретного ЦП. Изготавливается Xe Graphics G7 на 10-нанометровом производстве Intel во втором поколении.

Intel Arc 140V: Довольно быстрый интегрированный графический адаптер, который, как сообщается, используется в некоторых процессорах Intel Lunar Lake. 140V имеет 8 ядер архитектуры Xe², работающих на частоте до 2 050 МГц, и 8 блоков трассировки лучей; он поддерживает DirectX 12 Ultimate, а также все современные видеокодеки. Intel Tiger Lake:

i7-1165G7: Четырёхъядерный процессор семейства Tiger Lake. Относится к среднему уровню производительности, ориентирован на тонкие ноутбуки; частота процессорных ядер при 28-ваттовом долговременном Power Limit равна 28 Вт, максимально достижимая частота при нагрузке на одно ядро = 4.7 ГГц. Встроенный графический процессор называется Iris Xe G7 (96 блоков EU). Рассматриваемый Core i7 изготавливается на 10-нанометровом производстве Intel во втором поколении и был вторым по производительности среди всех процессоров Tiger Lake подкласса UP3, когда Intel представила их в 2020 году.

Intel Alder Lake-P:

i7-1260P: Процессор для тонких ноутбуков с активным охлаждением. Располагает 4 производительными и 8 экономными ядрами с частотой работы в пределах 1.5...4.7 ГГц. Входит в семейство Alder Lake, подкласс P, номинальное энергопотребление = 28 ватт, максимальное = 64 ватта. Функции vPro поддерживаются на уровне "Essentials" (без возможности дистанционного управления ноутбуком). Встроенный графический адаптер, Iris Xe с 96 блоками EU, остался тем же, что был в предшествующих процессорах (Tiger Lake UP3).

i5-1240P: Процессор среднего уровня для тонких (но активно охлаждаемых) ноутбуков. Входит в семейство Alder Lake, располагает 4 производительными ядрами и 8 экономными ядрами, первые поддерживают Hyper-Threading, вторые эту функцию не поддерживают, в сумме = 16 потоков. Процессорные ядра работают с частотой 1.2...4.4 ГГц; есть встроенный графический процессор, Iris Xe с 80 блоками EU, и поддержка функций vPro уровня "Essentials".

Intel Alder Lake-M:

i7-1255U: Мобильный процессор на базе Alder Lake с 2 производительными ядрами и 8 эффективными ядрами. Производительные ядра предлагают гиперпоточность, что позволяет обрабатывать 12 потоков. Тактовая частота процессора варьируется от 1,2 до 4,7 ГГц. Показатель TDP составляет 15 Вт.

Intel Lunar Lake:

Core Ultra 7 258V: Процессор верхнего среднего ценового диапазона семейства Lunar Lake. Это SoC для использования в ноутбуках и планшетах самого тонкого типа, оснащенная 4 новыми ядрами E и 4 новыми ядрами P, работающими на частоте до 4,8 ГГц, а также новым многообещающим iGPU Arc 140V и 32 ГБ оперативной памяти LPDDR5x-8533 в комплекте. Также предусмотрены новый нейронный движок 47 TOPS, поддержка TB 4 и PCIe 5 SSD.
