The Zephyrus G16 RTX 5080 is, at its core, a great gaming laptop with a few caveats. Its OLED display is jaw-dropping in its gorgeousness, the kind of screen that even people who are not into technology will admit looks fantastic. The solidly built and MacBook Pro-like chassis is achingly lovely to look at and hold, with its stylish and elegant design. The sound quality rivals that of some dedicated audio devices, and the keyboard and trackpad can easily compete with the best on the market. However, if your main goal is to squeeze the highest possible FPS out of games and you care less about design, you are better off choosing a laptop with a 175 watt RTX 5080, such as the Medion, for that extra grunt. The variant in the Zephyrus G16 does offer solid performance at 120 watts and manages to stay fairly cool under load.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is a generally lovely laptop, with a crisp OLED screen, gorgeous looks and a great port selection. However, its performance isn’t anywhere near as strong as its key rivals, and its battery life is especially disappointing, making it a harder sell than in previous years, especially for its high price. For instance, the Medion Erazer Beast 16 X1 Ultimate (RTX 5090) is only slightly more, and while it may sacrifice an OLED screen in favour of a Mini LED one and some level of portability and style, it comes with a lot more power, as good of a port selection, and much better battery life. The ROG Zephyrus G16 (2025) is a lovely laptop, but just not for that zanily high price. For more options, check out our list of the best gaming laptops we’ve tested.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is a potent, skinny laptop with a powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti graphics chip. The overall package is undoubtedly luxury, from its vivid OLED display panel to its high-fidelity audio and comfortable keyboard—hence its steep entry-level price. However, we find that the super-slim chassis sacrifices a bit too much performance for what short-lived time it draws from the battery. To be clear, the ROG Zephyrus G16 is a fine premium 16-inch gaming laptop for frequent travelers. To avoid those concessions for a similar price, consider going smaller with the Editors' Choice award-winning Razer Blade 14 for an even more balanced compact gaming laptop.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is one of the better laptops available today in the niche of premium lightweight formats with a large 16-inch display and solid multi-purpose performance capabilities for work, gaming and daily use. The 2025 refresh comes with more RAM and Blackwell GPUs and a price increase, but the Ultra 9 + RTX 5070Ti version reviewed here is arguably the better-value choice among the multitude of configuration options. This is Intel only, though; too bad there's no AMD variant with similar graphics capabilities.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 is an impressive machine. It offers an excellent build, great speakers, a gorgeous display, and fits potent hardware all into a laptop that’s surprisingly thin and light. All the more surprising is the fact that the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 doesn’t show much of a struggle managing its heat. By default, it doesn’t take full advantage of its hardware, and it remains quiet thanks to that decision, but full performance is just a couple clicks away and helps the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 keep pace with its competition better. While you’ll still likely want a beefier laptop if you want full performance all the time, there’s something to be said for the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16’s ability to deliver solid performance sometimes and good portability the rest of the time.

The ROG Zephyrus G16 definitely has its downsides and it’s something you just have to accept for now since there are limits to what their brilliant engineers can do with the internal given the form factor they want this to be. I am personally willing to take the hits for the sake of my back and given that I usually play in little spurts versus pulling all-nighters, which is why I suggested this as the perfect laptop for gamer titos out there. If you’re a tito like me or just have the disposable income to get this laptop (to be clear, I don’t have the disposable income for this), then you might want to consider the ROG Zephyrus G16. That’s another major point that needs to be talked about. The price. Since this does come with a very, very hefty price tag. I mean, most gaming laptops do, but some may not be willing to pay the SRP for the form factor and compromise you have to make when it comes to gaming.

Новинка с отличным дизайном в светлых тонах привлекательна еще и тем, что заключена в цельнометаллический корпус и экипирована экраном OLED 2.5K с соотношением сторон 16:10, который поддерживает 10-битный вывод изображения и обладает сертификацией VESA Display HDR True Black 500. Начинка отражает точку зрения производителя на то, чего достаточно для креативной деятельности и игр: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop, 32 ГБ оперативной памяти, не подлежащей замене и апгрейду, всего один высокоскоростной порт USB 4. Зато второй Type-С (как и USB 4) поддерживает вывод видео и питание внешних устройств, поэтому с учетом наличия отдельного HDMI к ноутбуку можно подключить до трех внешних мониторов одновременно. Имеется картовод для SD. Клавиатура неплохая, но лишена цифрового блока. Нет встроенного адаптера локальной сети. Веб-камера в рамке экрана обладает разрешением 1080p и лишена механической шторки.

Линейка Zephyrus позиционируется производителем как игровая. Несмотря на это, Zephyrus G16 (2025) GA605 вполне можно рассматривать и как производительную рабочую станцию или ноутбук для развлечений. В играх лэптоп ожидаемо себя показывает с лучшей стороны. При этом высокая производительность дает возможность использовать девайс и для других ресурсоемких задач. Качественный дисплей – для работы с цветом и графикой. Отличные возможности мультимедиа – для развлечений, а неплохая автономность – для работы вне дома. Резюмируя, можно сказать, что новинка – это скорее универсальный производительный ноутбук, а не исключительно игровое решение. Об этом говорит и сдержанный, но стильный дизайн, который придется по вкусу как геймерам, так и остальным пользователям.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности составляют собой абсолютную элиту мира видеокарт. В том числе они справятся с любой игрой в максимальном качестве. Для оптимальной работы таких видеокарт обязательно большое количество энергии и мощная система охлаждения.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop: В GeForce RTX 5090 Mobile используется чип GB203 и задействует 10 496 шейдеров / ядер CUDA из максимальных 10 752, которыми оснащен чип. Это делает RTX 5090 Laptop более похожим на настольный вариант RTX 5080 (тот же чип), чем Настольный RTX 5090 с 20 760 ядрами и более высокой тактовой частотой.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop: Грядущая видеокарта из семейства Blackwell для ноутбуков, которую Team Green, скорее всего, представит на CES 2025. Мы предполагаем, что она будет основана на чипе GB205, с 5 888 активными унифицированными шейдерами (ядрами CUDA).

Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 9 285H: Высококлассный мобильный процессор на базе архитектуры Arrow Lake с 16 ядрами, разделенными на 3 кластера. 6 быстрых ядер P работают на частоте до 5,4 ГГц. Также есть 8 меньших ядер E с частотой до 4,5 ГГц и 2 небольших ядра с низким энергопотреблением (той же архитектуры) с частотой до 2,5 ГГц. В SoC интегрирован небольшой NPU с пиковой производительностью 13 TOPS и поддержкой vPro Enterprise.

AMD :

Ryzen AI 7 350: Относительно мощный процессор семейства Strix Point, дебютировавший в октябре 2024 года. APU гибридной архитектуры оснащен 8 процессорными ядрами (смесь ядер Zen 5 и Zen 5c), работающими на частоте до 5,0 ГГц, а также графическим адаптером Radeon 880M и нейронным движком 50 TOPS XDNA 2. AMD Secure Processor (который в двух словах представляет собой встроенный сопроцессор ARM) тоже есть на борту, как и несколько других функций высшего класса, например, AMD-Vi.
