The Asus ExpertBook P3 isn’t the most exciting laptop we’ve ever encountered. If we were talking about a gaming setup, that might be a point against it. But in the workplace, you don’t really want exciting (unless your job is disarming landmines with a pogo stick). It’s solid, dependable, and works hard, all while not trying too hard to call attention to itself. It’s Bill from that unspecified department that always manages to fix problems in minutes. That’s not a bad thing. The only drawback that we can see is the competition from Apple’s MacBook Air range. Similar pricing means it’s very easy to discard the ExpertBook P3 as a choice if the prevailing office culture favours Tim Cook’s fruit-flavoured machines. But if you’re in a Windows workplace, your IT guy will probably love setting you up on the company network on this machine. There are no real surprises. Just quiet, quick productivity.

The Asus ExpertBook P3 is a great laptop combining an all-metal build quality and “AI PC” hardware that delivers a combination of solid CPU performance and an NPU that can drive Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC features. On top of that, the price — $1,200 to $1,400 or so, depending on the sale pricing — is an excellent value for a machine that comes with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB solid-state drive. The main downside here is the display: Many people will want something brighter and perhaps higher-resolution. The other downside here is battery life: Chips from Intel and Qualcomm will deliver much longer battery life at the cost of top-end CPU performance, and that will be a better fit for workers with light workflows. But this is a robust laptop that can deliver impressive performance with reasonable battery life and at a fair price. It’s a great laptop.

In some ways, the Acer Vero 16 is stronger, with a brighter screen and better colour reproduction, not to mention a slightly faster CPU. Yet the Asus will be a better option for some buyers, either because they prefer the robust metallic shell to the Acer's more quirky recycled plastics, or because they're looking for a laptop with AI potential, where the 50 TOPS NPU in the Ryzen AI 7 processor has the advantage over the 13 TOPS NPU in the Vero 16's Core Ultra 7 255H. Either model is a great professional laptop, so it's more a question of budget, requirements, and style, but if you're in the market for a future-ready, big-screen business device, this is one of the best we've seen.

On the face of it, a great laptop, until I realised that Asus had flushed 50% of its performance away by making a silly decision on memory modules. That point aside, this is a nice system with more ports than many laptops get these days, and an excellent Ryzen platform. There are a few areas where this machine could be improved, opening up the option for a P3 Plus model with a 2.5GbE LAN port and the USB4 ports that the processor natively supports. But for the relatively low asking price, for the majority of office users, this machine is excellent, if you don’t make the horrible mistake of buying one with a single memory module.

Asus:

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.

Intel UHD Graphics 64EUs: Интегрированная видеокарта в SoC Intel Alder Lake на базе новой архитектуры Gen. 12 (Xe) с 64 EU (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). Тактовая частота зависит от модели процессора.

AMD Radeon 860M: Довольно мощный iGPU архитектуры RDNA 3.5, дебютировавший в начале 2025 года и являющийся прямым преемником Radeon 760M. Его 8 CU/WGP (512 унифицированных шейдеров) работают на частоте до 3 ГГц. Здесь поддерживаются DX12 Ultimate, трассировка лучей, генерация изображений с помощью искусственного интеллекта и другие современные функции, а также многие популярные видеокодеки, включая, прежде всего, AVC, HEVC, VP9 и AV1. Его игровая производительность достаточно хороша, чтобы играть в 2024 игры на низких настройках графики.

i7-13620H: Мобильный процессор на базе Alder Lake с 6 производительными ядрами и 4 эффективными ядрами. Производительные ядра предлагают гиперпоточность, что позволяет обрабатывать 16 потоков. Процессор работает на частоте от 1,8 до 4,9 ГГц и поддерживает vPro.

AMD Strix / Gorgon Point:

Ryzen AI 7 350: Относительно мощный процессор семейства Strix Point, дебютировавший в октябре 2024 года. APU гибридной архитектуры оснащен 8 процессорными ядрами (смесь ядер Zen 5 и Zen 5c), работающими на частоте до 5,0 ГГц, а также графическим адаптером Radeon 880M и нейронным движком 50 TOPS XDNA 2.
