However, the disappointing camera quality, lackluster speaker, and old software make us question whether this is worth choosing over other devices. The Samsung Galaxy A53 costs $350, and although it doesn’t support 66W fast charging, it has a Super AMOLED display, great camera performance, and a similarly excellent battery life. Samsung has also been one of the best OEMs in the past few years when it gets to software updates and support, and it may be a better option. Now, should you spend $100 more for the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G? It depends on your requirements, but if you don’t plan to take many photos, and listening to music isn’t a priority, the HONOR X9 5G will serve you well. It has plenty of power for all of your gaming and multitasking needs, and it will easily last you a full day of charge, or two days, depending on how heavily you use it. The HONOR X9 5G has a beautiful design, 5G, and respectable specifications for the price. It packs an excellent two-day battery, and it also comes with a super-fast 66W fast charger. Yes, but don’t expect great photos out of it. The Honor X9 ticks a lot of boxes, but photography isn’t one of them. You really need to be prepared to be unhappy with the images produced by the X9, especially if you’re not patient enough to work around the software problems. A lot of budget phone in this price range struggle in this department, though, like the US-only OnePlus Nord N20, so Honor isn’t exactly faring any worse than the competition. The software is another department that Honor just doesn’t nail. The home screen doesn’t feel well-thought-out with its lack of shortcuts and its tendency to throw up a different panel than expected when you hit the home button. Honor’s battery-saving measures are also utterly punishing for anyone who relies on apps running smoothly in the background, and to find out what’s wrong, you first need to know what the culprit is and then check in system settings. It’s also a bummer that it ships with Android 11, even though Android 13 is already around the corner. That said, the Honor X9 has quite some going for it.

HONOR Pad X8 – недорогой планшет, который рад бы выделиться, но особо нечем. Он аккуратно оформлен (тонкий корпус с алюминиевой обшивкой), в нем использованы не очень свежая, но вполне компетентная аппаратная платформа, приличный экран с диагональю 10,1 дюйма и LTE-модем. Все вроде нормально, но планшету не хватает автономности, памяти и какой-то изюминки. Впрочем, и выбор в сегменте до 15 тысяч рублей не такой богатый – на общем фоне HONOR Pad X8 вполне себе неплох.

The X8 is geared towards those who want a slim phone that offers a large display thanks to its razor-thin bezels, while the X9 is made to be an affordable version of the Magic4 Pro flagship by offering a number of high-end features and having a very good camera performance when compared against the competition. Having a good set of features for their price, we do hope that HONOR stays true to its commitment with software upgrades and updates the X7, X8, and X9 to Android 12–or maybe get them upgraded to HONOR’s upcoming MagicOS 7.0 in the near future.

The Honor X7’s global battery score ranks it above average in our entire database. The autonomy was really optimized when testing in factory default settings. Indeed, it showed excellent performance during the typical usage scenario, with low discharge currents, day and night, and excellent autonomy on the go, especially when scrolling on social apps and using GPS navigation. When tested in calibrated mode, the gaming and calling tests showed decent autonomy, but the device struggled when streaming video and music. We noticed that the battery levels 8%, 28%, 48%, 68%, and 88% displayed by the UI lasted only 30 seconds, whatever the use case, even during the charging tests. When the device reached 2%, the device would automatically turn off after 30 seconds.

Это редкий OLED-дисплей класса флагмана в этом ценовом диапазоне, но этого недостаточно, чтобы убедить покупателей в покупке. Практически все конкуренты Magic5 Lite предлагают схожее качество дисплея, но при этом лучше в других областях. Средний аппарат Honor по-прежнему отстает от конкурентов по производительности, запускается с устаревшим Android и, судя по его предшественнику, обновление до Android 13, вероятно, не появится в этом году. Почему назвали Honor X9a выскочкой в начале обзора? Сейчас в Россию безопаснее привозить «типичные» недорогие смартфоны. С привычным дизайном, с камерами-заглушками по 2 Мп. Ты не рискуешь потерять покупателя, а под шумок можно сэкономить на мелочах. Эффектных середняков мало, а таких, чтобы зацепили — единицы. Honor X9a получился сбалансированным и в то же время цепляющим. При первой встрече удивляет тонким корпусом и изогнутым экраном. В процессе использования — живучей батареей и ярким дисплеем без ШИМ и с частотой 120 Гц. Из недостатков выделим монозвук, отсутствие аудиоразъема и слота под карты памяти. У него 160 мегапикселей (да, и такое бывает), обалдеете от качества снимков. However, we strongly believe that the HONOR X9a 5G’s best feature is its price. Retailing for only Php 16,990 for the 8GB and 256GB models, the X9a 5G is simply in a class of its own. While it doesn’t have the best camera quality out there or the best speaker experience, you simply cannot find a better package than what the HONOR X9a 5G has to offer, especially at this price. Personally, if I didn’t love taking photos, I could easily see myself happily daily driving the X9a 5G without any problem.

So, with everything considered, I really don’t understand what’s Honor up to with this phone! I really like its design, it’s really good! The curved display on a mid-range phone is also nice to have! It has good battery backup and I can live with its UI too! But compromising on very important aspects like performance, cameras, and stereo speakers doesn’t make me feel like the good old Honor is back. I remember Honor used to offer incredible midrange smartphones back in the day like the Honor Play with an aluminum back, powerful Kirin 970 chip, and a 4K-recording capable camera—all at a pretty reasonable price. So I really wished the company could bring back that legacy instead. But, at the moment, I believe Honor still needs to progress even further, be it in terms of software or hardware, to match up with its fellow brands. For what Honor is asking for this phone, you should consider the Redmi Note 12 Pro or Pro+, both of which have OIS cameras, a much better processor, and a stereo speaker setup. And if you prefer a smartphone with a curved display, the Realme 10 Pro+ is also a better option.

The Honor X9a’s outstanding global battery score earned it a place in the top 5 of our database to date. Even though the device’s charging time was slightly longer than average, the Honor X9a offered excellent overall autonomy and efficiency, bringing 3 full days of battery life in moderate use. Excellent autonomy was particularly measured in individual usages such as gaming, calling, video and music streaming, but also for all on-the-go usages. This was confirmed by our discharge efficiency measurements, with the Honor X9a draining very low discharge currents overall, a sign of well-optimized software. The drawback to the device’s performance was that the battery gauge was inaccurate. When the screen displayed 20% capacity, the true capacity measured was only 16%. At a displayed 1% capacity, the device shut down automatically. Moreover, battery readings at various stages of the battery gauge (precisely at 12%, 17%, 43%, 50%, 65%, and 83%) only lasted only a few seconds, affecting the user experience. Overall, the Honor X9a displays a strong battery performance, particularly when compared with other devices in the Advanced segment.

At the time of writing, Honor Malaysia hasn’t furnished the exact price of the Honor X9a but it should be under RM1,500 and slightly north of its predecessors RM1,199 price tag. If the Honor X9a’s official price between these two extremes, it makes for relatively fair value. Once Honor has announced the official price of the Honor X9a in Malaysia, we’ll update our review accordingly with a final score. An extremely sturdy midrange phone with a toughened OLED display, excellent battery life, a slew of generous extras bundled with it and decent performance to boot, making it ideal for general users.

При этом есть кое-что и сверх этого: например, тот самый экран поддерживает частоту 90 Гц, что в смартфонах за 13 тысяч рублей почти не встретишь. Так что это не совсем one-trick pony, хотя HONOR X7a и близок к тому. Это смартфон в первую очередь для тех, кому действительно критична автономность.

As for color options, the Honor X7a is available in Titanium Silver, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black color variants. For display specs, you will obtain a 6.75 inches TFT LCD display panel that renders a 720 x 1600 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the Honor X7a smartphone is powered by the 12nm Mediatek MT6765H Helio G37 chipset that will ensure you don’t face any trouble in your daily activities. At the same time, you are getting Android 12 OS with the Magic UI 6.1 custom skin. Moving to internal storage, the Honor X7a smartphone offers a single variant of 128GB space that will be accompanied by 6GB RAM. But, all things considered, I don’t think this phone is worth buying in this price range. It could have been a better offering if it had been launched in the 20-22k price range. You can find much better options like the Realme 10, Redmi Note 12 (4G), and Poco X5. The Honor X8a boasts an appealing appearance as well as an acceptable chipset and camera. However, the price point at which it hit the market hinders it from standing out in the competition. Smartphones such as the Redmi Note 12 4G and Realme 10 provide considerably more value for a lower price.

The smartphone also runs on Android 12 (Go edition) with a clean user interface. In this smartphone, you get a single 8MP camera lens with a 5MP selfie camera lens for capturing photos. Both cameras are capable to record 1080p videos. In terms of storage, you get 2GB RAM support accompanied by 32GB internal storage, while for expanded memory there’s also present a microSDXC card slot. Let’s talk about battery capacity, the Honor X5 smartphone offers a massive Li-Po 5000 mAh battery without any fast charging support. The smartphone weighs around 193 grams and is available in three color variants: Sunrise Orange, Ocean Blue, and Midnight Black.

All in all, the Honor X6a is a decent offering at the price range with its highs and lows. The battery backup is excellent, the cameras are okay. And, the performance — it’s liveable with. It is good for folks who are looking for a phone with general usage in mind like surfing the internet, snapping some photos, and playing some light games here and there. However, if you wish to get some more performance out of your phone then going with something like Redmi 12 or even the cheaper Redmi 12C is a good idea. While you can’t call any of the specs particularly groundbreaking, you can’t expect a lot in this price range anyway. It has a great design, a high refresh-rate display, a decent chipset, a set of good cameras, and a high-capacity battery. What more could you ask for at this price range? The smartphone also lacks 5G connectivity, which we understand can be a dealbreaker for some people. We were honestly surprised by how well-made and balanced this smartphone was. But you know what they say, there’s always another fish in the sea and they are not wrong. The Xiaomi Redmi 13C is one such smartphone but provides better specs in many areas and is available for a similar or slightly higher price tag depending on where you live. However, the final decision is up to you, so it is better to choose a smartphone based on your requirements and needs.

So, there are quite a lot of compromises being made here. The device provides the best refresh rate you can get at this price, a quality OS experience, and a good battery life. But all these are overshadowed by the laggy performance, leading the screen to not reach its maximum threshold most of the time, slower charging, and average cameras. A better phone would be the Redmi 12C at a much cheaper price. This substitute provides better performance and a better camera. Charging is similar, though! And, for the best camera in the price range, go for the Samsung A04. However, if you can, I would highly recommend adding an extra 2.5k and gunning it for the Redmi 12 (review) which is better than all of the above and brings a well-rounded package at an affordable price.

It lacks the responsiveness you might find in, for example, the Redmi 12C. Nonetheless, MagicOS offers a range of features, including customization. The Yoyo suggestion on the home screen intelligently recommends frequently used apps, which I found helpful. Additionally, you can take a screenshot by tapping the screen twice or capture a partial screenshot by circling with your knuckle. Accessing multi-window by swiping from the edge and pausing works well, and you can change app icons and themes from the settings. One notable missing feature is that when adjusting the volume using the buttons, it only controls one type of volume, primarily media control, which handles music, videos, and games by default.

Или - ладно я - я видео почти не снимаю. Но другие-то снимают. Почему нет стабилизации? Не оптической, хотя бы электронной. Это же софт... Может, при обновлении прошивки добавите? Впрочем, это всё так, небольшие придирки. Готов ли я рекомендовать вам Honor X9b для покупки? Вы знаете, с учётом действующих сейчас скидок, про которые я говорил, когда писал про цены - однозначно да. Моя оценка? Восемь баллов из десяти возможных. Минус балл за сильно скруглённый экран. И минус балл за "вспомогательные камеры".

Смартфон среднего класса с самым долгим временем работы от аккумулятора в 2024 г. HONOR X9b

С одной стороны, HONOR X9b — это X9a, только «тех же щей да побольше налей». X9a, если помните, тоже был смартфоном с изогнутым дисплеем, увеличенной ёмкостью аккумулятора и нормальной, хоть и не лучшей в классе камерой. В общем-то да, всего стало больше: в случае с X9a у нас в примерно таком же корпусе помещалось 5100 мАч, а тут 5800 мАч. Вместо средненькой 64 Мп камеры поставили более толковую 108 Мп. Вместо 6/128 ГБ комплектации, как у X9a, теперь входной билет — 8/256 ГБ. В чём разница? И вот в мире новых великолепных таможенных правил, с оглядкой на официальную розницу, HONOR X9a получается лучшим смартфоном для тех, кого устраивает обычная (за эти деньги) по качеству камера, но хочется получить самый долгоиграющий от аккумулятора мобильник в обычных габаритах, и не в ущерб скорости работы, либо качеству экрана.

We recently tested the Honor Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) battery, whose performance placed it among the top devices in our database. Considering that the Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) is a renamed version of the Honor X9b for different regions, we put the Honor X9b through a sanity check. We observed considerable improvements compared to the results of our first evaluation run in the fall of 2023. We have therefore updated the test results with the latest scores. Equipped with a robust 5800 mAh battery, the Honor X9b exhibited an impressive battery life of over three days under moderate usage. The device gained more than 3 hours of autonomy over the previous test, lasting 80 hours and 31 minutes without having to recharge.

Considering that the Magic6 Lite (5800 mAh) is a renamed version of the Honor X9b for different regions, we put the Honor X9b through a sanity check. We observed considerable improvements compared to the results of our first evaluation run in the fall of 2023. We have therefore updated the test results with the latest scores. Equipped with a robust 5800 mAh battery, the Honor X9b exhibited an impressive battery life of over three days under moderate usage. The device gained more than 3 hours of autonomy over the previous test, lasting 80 hours and 31 minutes without having to recharge.

Okay wrapping the Honor X9b review up, I found the Honor X9b to be a solid phone with super solid display protection and build. It ticks almost every box of the 5 pillars I mentioned at the beginning, except for the camera part. Well, I would not term it the worst camera phone in the segment, but it surely needs some optimization in both the photo and video department. Apart from that, the display is super sharp with a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 6 gen 1 is a good performer for the price and the MagicUI is a refined OS, although stuck on Android 13 for now. So, if you are looking for a phone with a really strong display, a good UI, and overall performance but can live with an average camera, the Honor X9b is a no-brainer choice! It is almost a perfect mid-ranger.

As of now, there’s no other smartphone that offers this kind of toughness in the market other than its predecessor, at least not in this form factor. Most resilient phones are bulky and look like something you’re bringing into a mine or a jungle, while this phone just looks like any other regular smartphone in 2023. While it’s obviously not indestructible, it’s more than capable of handling the regular slips and drops of the accident-prone. The icing on the cake is that the X9b comes with a 365-day replacement warranty for the back and front glass, meaning that it gets replaced for free if you manage to crack it within a year. Sure, it has a mediocre camera setup and it won’t get you the best mobile gaming performance, but if neither of those things is a high priority for you and you’re just looking for a reliable and affordable smartphone that’ll last for years to come with little care, then the HONOR X9b gets my approval.

Oddly enough, they’ve also pre-applied a screen protector on the phone itself which is somewhat amusing seeing how tough the Honor X9b is. Charging performance was the only area where the Honor X9b performed below average. With the 35W charger, the device took more than 2 hours to arrive at a full charge. HONOR X7b — один из самых недорогих смартфонов-долгожителей в среднем ценовом сегменте, но с куда более интересными характеристиками, чем у предшественника. Да, тут не слишком мощная аппаратная платформа (но все равно в разы более актуальная, нежели у HONOR X7a), зато экран теперь с Full HD-разрешением, тыльные камеры вполне адекватные (особенно главная), оперативной памяти достаточно, ну и аудиовозможности очень неплохие. Это все еще смартфон, сосредоточенный в первую очередь на задаче прожить как можно дольше на одном заряде, но не бросающий теперь все ради этой цели.

По сути, это тюнингованный бюджетный смартфон — с хорошей по меркам бюджетных смартфонов, но ещё не среднего уровня камерой, отличным экраном, но всего лишь «терпимой» производительностью. С другой стороны, конкретно в случае Honor X8b мы говорим об очень тонком, лёгком и компактном смартфоне с шикарной автономностью и лучшим за эти деньги качеством экрана (как по яркости, так и по цветопередаче). И хотя большинство из нас (и редакторов, и читателей) выберут то, что круче по камерам-процессорам, должны же существовать смартфоны и для тех, кто в первую очередь смотрит на габариты и качество корпуса? И отдельно хочу ещё раз отметить дизайн.

Overall, the HONOR X8b is a pretty decent phone for RM1000. The sleek plain leather back cover design is indeed one of the highlights and is usually only available on flagships. While granted its tech specs are just mid-range, that's what you're supposed to get in this price range. At least the display features are pretty good for video streaming, and the camera does a decent job. It's also enough to do your normal social media stuff. EN→RUOverall, the HONOR X8b is a pretty decent phone for RM1000. The sleek plain leather back cover design is indeed one of the highlights and is usually only available on flagships. While granted its tech specs are just mid-range, that's what you're supposed to get in this price range. At least the display features are pretty good for video streaming, and the camera does a decent job. It's also enough to do your normal social media stuff. But still, the software interface doesn’t bring that many customization features. Yet, the users can adjust the interface layout. On the other hand, 5G connectivity gives a better speed when you want to stream content or games. Now, if you prefer camera quality as much as performance, then you should consider getting a Google Pixel 7A. It will provide a stable Android update with improved camera quality for both photos and videos. But at the same time, if you are interested in a complete package of camera and performance, the Xiaomi Civi 3 would be a fabulous choice.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности совершенно не подходят для игр. Скорее всего, даже в повседневных делах пользователь столкнётся с ограничениями, такими, как отсутствие аппаратного декодирования видео или невозможность подключения монитора с актуальным разрешением.
