Очень жаль, что Honor Magic 2 официально не продается в Европе. Видимо, в Huawei считают, что вся магия, необходимая для работы этого устройства, не будет работать за пределами Китая. Но в этом мире возможно все и вот они мы - делаем небольшой обзор нового классного смартфона Honor.

Слайдеры снова в моде: тест-обзор смартфона Honor Magic 2

Во многом Honor Magic 2 – экспериментальная модель. В ней разработчики Huawei обкатывают инженерные идеи по максимизации размеров экрана без увеличения габаритов самого смартфона. Как оказалось, у слайдера есть как преимущества, так и недостатки. Например, аппарат обладает очень большим дисплеем с интегрированным сканером отпечатков пальцев, однако часть функций реализована не в полном объёме. Разблокировка экрана по лицу работает только в раскрытом положении слайдера, при этом скорость и качество не такие высокие, как у стандартных аппаратов. Также пришлось уменьшить ёмкость аккумулятора, чтобы мобильник обладал компактными размерами.

Даже когда цены устаканятся на рекомендованных 35 тысячах, у более страшного и у более медленного (на бумаге) Xiaomi с заметно более качественной камерой всё равно останется преимущество. Its cameras are high resolution, it charges incredibly fast, its screen is beautiful (curved edges notwithstanding), and overall, the device’s hardware succeeds at having that premium flagship feel. If you want a phone that can wirelessly charge faster than many other phones can do over a wired connection, then the Honor Magic4 Pro is very happy to oblige. But I was never won over by the experience of actually using the Honor Magic4 Pro. Whether it was the occasional software hiccups, the aggressive background app management, or the lock screen shortcut that got in the way too often, it often felt like wearing a pair of shoes that were just half a size too big. When a phone costs as much as a Samsung or Apple flagship, you might find a better fit elsewhere.

There were even allegations that the Honor Magic 3 Pro model is just a rebranded Huawei Mate 50, although both companies firmly denied those rumors. Holding the Honor Magic 4 Pro in my hands, I can see where all this is coming from. There certainly are similarities between some devices from the ex-married couple but at the end of the day, It really doesn’t matter all that much from a consumer's point of view. I highly doubt that anyone could ever know the 100% truth behind the split. The practical result of it, however, is the fact that we now have another high quality brand to compete with the usual suspects, and this time with Google Services on board. The Magic 4 Pro looks like a high-end flagship through and through, and it should tick all the proverbial technology boxes. From the 6.81-inch LTPO OLED display to the 100x zoom telephoto lens, this phone holds a lot of promise. Time to go deeper!

The software feels unfinished and lacks basic features, the display is LCD while most alternatives offer OLEDs, the loudspeaker quality is subpar, the camera experience just isn't up to the snuff, and there's no microSD card slot. Unfortunately, aside from the 5G connectivity, the good battery life with fast charging and the big screen, the Magic4 Lite doesn't have a lot going for it. And we are not sure Honor can leverage its past brand loyalty to entice users to get a product that's not very balanced, to say the least. Perhaps your money is better spent elsewhere, and there are even cheaper options.
