The display is disappointing, even at its often discounted price, while the performance and battery life are easier to take for under $700. The OmniBook is fine for basic tasks like web browsing, but if that's all you need a laptop for, you may consider going even cheaper with one of the best laptops under $500! On the other end of the spectrum, if you're looking for a high-performance laptop for work or creative tasks, you will be much better off with the MacBook Air M4 or one of the best 16-inch laptops. As much as I want to like every laptop I review, there are simply too many drawbacks to recommend the HP OmniBook 5 Laptop AI for most users unless it is deeply discounted.

You are compromising on ports against key rivals, though. The Asus Zenbook A14 is a little richer in terms of ports, while also being even lighter and more stylish in its chassis, although battery life isn’t as strong. Likewise, the Dell Inspiron 14 Plus 7441 (2024) trades an OLED screen for more potency and a better port selection against HP’s choice.

HP delivered the complete package with this machine, with multi-day battery life to boot. It's an excellent companion for casual computing and is guaranteed to enjoy years of new features through Windows updates. I only wish the port selection was better.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.
AMD Radeon 780M: Интегрированная видеокарта в мобильных APU серии Ryzen 7040 основана на архитектуре RDNA3 с 12 CU (= 768 шейдеров) и тактовой частотой до 3 ГГц.
AMD Radeon 840M: Довольно мощный iGPU архитектуры RDNA 3.5, дебютировавший в начале 2025 года и являющийся прямым преемником Radeon 760M. Его 8 CU/WGP (512 унифицированных шейдеров) работают на частоте до 3 ГГц. Здесь поддерживаются DX12 Ultimate, трассировка лучей, генерация изображений с помощью искусственного интеллекта и другие современные функции, а также многие популярные видеокодеки, включая, прежде всего, AVC, HEVC, VP9 и AV1. Его игровая производительность достаточно хороша, чтобы играть в 2024 игры на низких настройках графики.

Intel Graphics 4-Core iGPU (Arrow Lake): Интегрированная графическая карта на базе архитектуры Xe LPG (похожа на специализированные графические процессоры Arc, но с упором на эффективность). Обеспечивает 4 ядра Xe (64 векторных двигателя Xe) и 4 блока трассировки лучей.

AMD Hawk Point (Zen 4/4c):
R7 8840U: Мощный процессор для ноутбуков (APU) семейства Hawk Point. Это не совсем новый APU; вместо него R7 8840U - это замаскированный R7 7840U. Его восемь ядер Zen 4 работают на частоте от 3,3 ГГц до 5,1 ГГц и поддерживают SMT, обеспечивая в общей сложности 16 потоков обработки. Великолепный iGPU Radeon 780M отвечает за 3D-обработку и другие подобные задачи, а также в 8840U реализована технология Ryzen AI второго поколения.
AMD :
Ryzen AI 5 340: Относительно мощный процессор семейства Krackan Point, который был представлен в начале 2025 года. APU объединяет 6 процессорных ядер (три ядра Zen 5 с частотой до 4,8 ГГц и три ядра Zen 5c с частотой до 3,4 ГГц). Intel Raptor Lake-U:
Core 7 150U: Высококлассный мобильный процессор на базе архитектуры Alder Lake. Предлагает 2 производительных ядра и 8 эффективных ядер и может обрабатывать 12 потоков одновременно. Максимальная турбо-частота ядер P составляет 5,4 ГГц. I5-1365U также поддерживает функции управления vPro Essentials.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X:
SD X Plus X1P-42-100: Относительно доступная система-на-чипе с архитектурой ARM для использования в ноутбуках под управлением Windows, дебют которой намечен на 4 июня 2024 года. По слухам, X1P-42-100 будет иметь 8 ядер процессора Oryon (8 P-ядер, 0 E-ядер), работающих на пока неизвестной тактовой частоте не менее 3 ГГц. На борту, скорее всего, будут находиться графический процессор Adreno с производительностью 3,8 TFLOPS, 45 TOPS Hexagon NPU, впечатляюще быстрый контроллер памяти LPDDR5x-8448, поддержка USB 4.0, TB 4 и PCIe 4. Intel Arrow Lake:
