The Acer Swift16 SF16-51 measures 35x24.5x1.5cm the last figure is at the back and it is 1cm at the front. The screen is 35x23cm with .5cm borders left and right, 1cm at the base and up to 1cm at the top, its only 1cm for the centre 7cm which contains the webcam. The viewable screen is 34x21.5cm which gives the diagonal imperial measurement of 16inches. Going around the outside starting at the back of the left side you have HDMI, USB3 and two USB 'C'. The front is clear and continuing round on the right side is a 3.5mm audio socket and finally a USB3 and two LEDs. The back is clear as the screen goes back to 180 degrees. The processor is an Intel Ultra 7 running at 2.2GHz. There is an Intel Arch graphics card with 128MB.

However, a compromised keyboard layout makes it less than ideal for productivity. The touted AI features also aren't that noteworthy, but this is more of a reflection on Copilot+ laptops in general. Where this Acer shines is its value, especially if it's on sale for $849.99, as it was during the review period. Even at its regular price, the Swift 16 AI punches above its weight, providing many of the features of more expensive laptops for less. You can get a sharper screen and a level of raw power more appropriate for a 16-inch laptop out of the MSI Prestige 16 AI Evo, but don't spurn this Swift if your budget is tighter.

The new Acer Swift AI 16 is one such laptop. It uses Intel’s latest Lunar Lake chipsets to provide reasonably fast and much more efficient performance, mated with a 16-inch OLED display. It’s also reasonably priced, making it an attractive option for road warriors who need to do more than one thing at a time.

The Panther Lake Swift 16 AI is Acer’s most convincing product for some time. As a balance between style, quality, performance and value, it’s pretty much perfect, and that’s why it deserves a Best Buy award. I still wish Acer spent a little more time on its sound systems, which continue to let it down, and there really is way too much bloat on this device. That second point is all the more ironic given that the Swift 16 lacks the one Acer control panel I’d like to see – one to adjust the display colour profile. Those are both relatively minor complaints, though. The speaker system I can live with, the display is accurate enough for 95% of uses, and most of the bloat can be easily uninstalled. What’s left is a very fine laptop indeed for the price.

The Acer Swift 16 AI is an incredible machine with amazing performance. It will likely be less expensive than many competing Panther Lake machines with similar hardware, which makes it a good choice, especially if you can find it on sale. However, it’s worth comparing prices and specs. For $1,899, I would pause and think before buying this laptop because of the glare factor alone. Do you want a glossy OLED display? That’s a matter of personal taste, and many people prefer the vivid OLED experience, even at the cost of reflectivity. But, since this is a laptop with long battery life that you may use on the go, a glossy display feels like a real downside. On the other hand, let’s be honest: If my biggest nitpick is a glossy display, that shows just how good this laptop is. While the display is a matter of personal preference, the rest of the machine largely shines. The Acer Swift 16 AI is amazing thanks to Panther Lake, the beautiful OLED panel, and that compelling trackpad.
