В целом, бизнес-ноутбук Dell Latitude E7240 показал себя с хорошей стороны. Внешне он хоть и неброский, но достаточно стильный, с таким явно не стыдно показаться перед партнерами или коллегами. Вот только может подкачать достаточно посредственный дисплей с маленьким разрешением, плохими углами обзора и неестественной цветопередачей. Возможно в случае с сенсорной Full HD матрицей, ситуация будет лучше. Что касается производительности, то для бизнес-модели она достаточно высокая – неплохой процессор последнего поколения, быстрый SSD-диск, 8 ГБ оперативной памяти. Ну, а наличие всех необходимых портов не может не радовать, ведь этот момент является особо важным именно для бизнес-моделей.

The price of the Latitude reflects its corporate/business focus, and part of its cost can be attributed to its three-year warranty with on-site service (after remote diagnosis). Four- and five-year plans are available at extra cost, as are accidental damage coverage, extended battery service, and data recovery insurance. If you’ve read my reviews in the past, you’ll know I’m a desktop replacement kind of guy. But if I wanted a new 12-inch to trek about to IT gigs, the Latitude E7240 would be on my short list.

The Dell Latitude E7240 Touch is quite portable and innovative, but as usual innovation comes at a price. Even though the E7240 Touch has a 1080p screen and some ruggedization, both the Dell Latitude 6430u and Sony VAIO Pro 13 are better buys. Both are much less expensive, and the VAIO Pro 13 has a 1,920 by 1,080 screen that is as bright and useful as the one on the Latitude E7240 Touch. Essentially, if you need the higher resolution touch screen, the ruggedization, and if you are a Dell shop, then the Latitude E7240 Touch is a good laptop for your Windows 8 vanguard team.

Очередной ноутбук Dell по необъяснимым причинам стоит больше 50 тысяч рублей, но при этом решительно не отличается всепокоряющим внешним видом или впечатляющими техническими характеристиками. За что же наценка? Остаётся лишь надеяться, что встроенный LTE-модем работает достаточно быстро, а аккумулятор обеспечит хотя бы десяток часов работы от одной зарядки.

With a similar configuration as our Latitude 7280 test system, you’ll find, not surprisingly, that the ThinkPad X270 has a similarly high price. Its key strengths versus this Latitude: the killer ThinkPad keyboard, and a dual removable-battery configuration that looks promising, along the lines of what's in the also-five-star ThinkPad T460. That said, the X270 configurations do not offer the IR camera, and only a one-year warranty comes standard. Both models, however, are winners if you or your office has the budget for durable, powerful, and long-running ultrabooks. Today, as refined as both of these business laptop lines are, it's all just degrees of good.

I always feel like the biggest Achilles’ Heel for the Latitude 9000 series is just that it exists. It uses to go up to the 7000 series until a couple of years ago. At that point, Dell said no, 7000 is not premium enough and we need a whole new tier just for how premium we want to get. So now, the only way to do this is to compare it to business laptop titans like the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga and the HP EliteBook x360 1040. Let’s be fair here. The Dell Latitude 9420 2-in-1 has an excellent 16:10 display, a solid keyboard, and narrow bezels. It also has a lot of great business features like ExpressSign-in, which wakes your PC and logs you in without you ever having to touch it. It’s also got a lot of flaws. It’s tough to compete with HP’s and Lenovo’s offerings, which have better keyboards and weigh less. And while none of the three machines have one, I’m still going to criticize the lack of a 1080p camera, especially because Dell is using FHD cameras across its Latitude 7000 lineup.

I have very few complaints about this Latitude. Even things I usually complain about on laptops — the webcam and the audio — were pretty good here. The 9420 is a solid ThinkPad competitor, and easily one of the best business convertibles you can buy. It can accommodate photo and video work, and it can even run lighter games on the side. But, of course, there’s the price. Even the base model’s price tag will be out of reach for many people. As Dell’s and Intel’s representatives have noted, this laptop is really for folks who need both the vPro platform and the Evo platform — the best business features and the best consumer features in one product. If you are in that group, the Latitude 9420 is a solid package that asks very few compromises. It’s premium technology for a premium price.

Dell’s Latitude line is the answer to Lenovo’s ThinkPad business notebooks, some of the best laptops on the market. Latitudes aren’t much to look at, but they come packed with security features. If you’re looking for a premium 2-in-1 laptop that can handle all of your multimedia multitasking (whether you’re on or off the clock) and much more, the Dell Latitude 9430 might well be worth the investment. We liked its 9420 predecessor and we like the Dell Latitude 9430 2-in-1 very much; enterprise IT managers will find it a highly capable, easily deployable option with attractive features ranging from its sunny screen to available 4G or 5G. The thing keeping it from Editors' Choice honors isn't its lack of an OLED screen, though that would be a nice status symbol. It's a high price tag—we know business laptops cost more than consumer models, but the Latitude's almost $3,000 while the OLED-screened Yoga 9i is under $2,000. Still, if your company can amortize that pain over three to five years, the Dell will reward you handsomely.

There's little doubt that as a thin-and-light laptop alone, the Dell 9330 is one of the best we've seen for a while in its own right. As a 2-in-1, it's certainly slick, and the form factor, coupled with the lightweight chassis makes it more usable as a tablet, but if you were hoping that it would finally be on par for usability with even the original Google Pixelbook, then we're sorry, but we're still not quite there yet. To say that feels like damning it with faint praise, however, because the Dell 9330 is a delight and ticks almost every box you could dream of. We'd love to have seen a dedicated graphics card, but pragmatically speaking, that would probably have changed the dimensions of the device and the onboard Iris X performance is still more than adequate for all but the most dedicated gamer or CAD user. Overall, we're nitpicking because this is a fabulous device that, given its specification and the relative stagnation in technology, is likely to give years of service without ageing. That is, however, very much reflected in its pricing which puts it out of reach for all but businesses and the extremely deep-pocketed. But if you choose to take the plunge - you'll get what you pay for and more. It's a fine machine.

The Latitude 9330 2-in-1 comes very close to earning an Editors' Choice award among business convertible laptops, though its ultraportable form factor and emphasis on videoconferencing aims it at frequent fliers and flex workers rather than office-bound executives. We're reserving the honor because we'd like to see more than one screen option, and it's a little short on ports—we strongly prefer native HDMI ports to USB-C dongles for connecting a monitor, and an Ethernet port would be nice for Dell's ingenious wired/wireless network aggregation. But staffers whose companies deploy the 9330 will be pleased with their choice.

The Latitude 9330 2-in-1 comes very close to earning an Editors' Choice award among business convertible laptops, though its ultraportable form factor and emphasis on videoconferencing aims it at frequent fliers and flex workers rather than office-bound executives. We're reserving the honor because we'd like to see more than one screen option, and it's a little short on ports—we strongly prefer native HDMI ports to USB-C dongles for connecting a monitor, and an Ethernet port would be nice for Dell's ingenious wired/wireless network aggregation. But staffers whose companies deploy the 9330 will be pleased with their choice.

We find plenty to like about the Dell Latitude 9440 2-in-1 in laptop mode. The display is first-rate, delivering excellent color and brightness, and the keyboard is a huge win as well, with a frameless design and an enormous touchpad with one-touch Zoom controls. Its battery life is also near the top of our charts. But in tablet mode, the 9440 shows its faults, with a hard-edged palm rest and a bit of extra heft. Dell's simplified port selection is fine if you already have a collection of adapters or a docking station, but maddening if you just want to plug in an HDMI monitor. And except for battery life, the convertible fails to show a major performance boost from Intel's 13th Gen hardware versus the equivalent 12th Gen Core i7 chip we tested in the Latitude 9430 last year. That's not enough to keep the Latitude from an excellent score, but it does keep it from Editors' Choice honors.

My needs are basically productivity and web tasks, along with some light content creation when I'm on the road for business. I prefer the 14-inch notebook format, becuase for me it's a perfect balance of petite size with ample screen real estate. I also prefer 1600p resolution,16:10 format displays, so yes, Dell hit my sweet spot here. That said, Dell also built a well-balance, super premium machine with the Latitude 9440 and I like it so much, I'd easily consider this a "daily driver" candidate. At $2,789 as configured here (Starting $1,919), the Dell Latitude 9440 2-in-1 isn't cheap, but all told pricing is competitive with other high-performance, premium devices in this class.

If you are looking for a small device that is snappy and comfortable for work, the Dell Latitude 13 7340 should be on your shortlist. The laptop offers great build quality alongside comfortable input devices. The performance is good for the class. The optional Core i5-1345U can maintain high clocks in short loads and the clocks in medium and long loads are still good which is a true achievement for this kind of laptop. In addition to that, the comfort under load is surprisingly good. The fan remains quiet even when the CPU is doing the heavy lifting for a long time and in this case, the keyboard doesn’t feel hot to the touch. The display 1200p IPS display (Chimei–Innolux 9YPWH-133JCA (CMN13C8; N133JCA-EEK)) is PWM-free and has wide viewing angles.
