If you’re not bothered about having a slim, attractive laptop and want to spend less, however, consider buying the Scan 3XS Graphite LG156. It also has great graphics performance and is powerful enough to use in place of a desktop computer.

Gigabyte deserves praise for making a laptop that’s consistently quick in a chassis that’s much slimmer and lighter than rivals, but the Aorus struggles to cope in some departments. It’s loud and hot, has poor battery life, and its keyboard and screen aren’t as good as others. At this price, the Alienware 17 is a better option, and the MSI GT70 is better if you want to spend a little less cash.

The Aorus X7 Pro is a stellar performer on the benchmark tests, there is no doubt of that. However, quality issues with its ergonomics, audio, and video keep it from a much higher score. Given that you're paying close to $2,600 for this laptop, you expect a great screen, keyboard, and touchpad to go along with the performance, and these are sorely lacking. The fan noise is inexcusable as well, kicking up to uncomfortable levels even in normal use and practically unbearable when gaming.

But attempting to have the best of both worlds comes at a cost. The chassis is nowhere near as durable as its thicker counterparts. The thin design is also likely contributing to thermal issues as the constant hum of the fan can be loud enough to disrupt the user and break the feeling of immersion when playing games. The screen is an improvement on the first model, too, and there’s a reasonable quantity of super-fast storage. Even the sub-£2,000 price isn’t outrageous, considering the specification. Aorus X7 Pro-Sync looks great and delivers fine gaming performance however the cooling in this slender laptop is marginal at best. The result is that the cooling fans are horribly noisy. It doesn’t help that battery life is unimpressive but we can forgive that in a gaming laptop. The issue here is that Aorus has put the emphasis on making the X7 Pro-Sync very thin and this has impacted on the usability and performance. When you consider the high price of this laptop it is quite a problem. It is a crying shame that Aorus could have made the laptop a few millimeters thicker and the result would probably have turned out better for the paying customer.

With an above average screen, great performance and an excellent chassis, the X7 Pro V5 is a superb 17in laptop. It's not worth an upgrade over the older model, but for a desktop replacement and general gaming/multi-purpose machine it ticks all the boxes. Performance was a tad slow in some of our stock speed results, which can only put down to the way the CPU turbo is handled as temperatures were kept fairly cool at stock speeds.

Saying that, I personally believe that the AORUS X7 DT v6 is one of the most attractive laptops ever devised.

Такой вес в последние годы можно встретить только в мощных ноутбуках с шустрой видеокартой и экраном больше 16 дюймов. Однако, десять-пятнадцать лет назад он был обычен и в куда менее производительных моделях.

Предельная граница, после которой ноутбук уже не поворачивается язык назвать портативным. Как правило, ноутбуки с подобным весом обладают производительной начинкой и увесистой системой охлаждения.
79.22%: Посредственный товар. Его недостатки слишком значительны, а цена слишком велика на фоне того, что предлагается потенциальному покупателю взамен. Если есть возможность, лучше поискать более удачный вариант.
