No! The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra isn't the perfect foldable, but it does come very close to that claim. The phone's only shortcoming is that it heats up if you spend a lot of time shooting video outdoors. At the same time, I don't see gamers purchasing a Razr 60 Ultra as regular bar-shaped devices are better-suited for this purpose. For the clamshell foldable target audience, this is indeed as good as it gets, as Motorola has shoved in a top-end processor and managed to deliver a very capable set of cameras along with above-average battery life, which is also the reason to upgrade to this new model. Heating issues aside, the Razr somehow makes a solid case for itself when it comes to competing with thin and premium smartphones like Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge. It's smaller, comes with enough dust and water resistance this year and has cameras that somehow manage better image quality than the bar-shaped slim phone.

No! The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra isn't the perfect foldable, but it does come very close to that claim. Let’s face it, flip phones aren’t for everyone. I’m not a huge fan of flip phones myself, as I’d rather have a book-style foldable. Where I can have a full-size phone, and then open it and get more of a tablet-sized display. But the Razr is a flip phone I could definitely use as my daily driver, largely because of everything they’ve done with that Cover Display. Allowing you to use any Android app on the Cover Display is really nice, and it means I don’t have to open the phone every time I want to use it, or doom scroll on X.

I really like the Motorola Razr Ultra, but it's hard to recommend for $1,300. If you're comfortable with the limited software support and serviceable cameras, then go for the phone. It's fun to use, looks sharp, built well and probably one of the most unique phones you can buy today. But I think most people looking for a Razr foldable will be fine with the Motorola Razr Plus. Overall, this is arguably the first true flagship foldable that you can buy. There are so few compromises to this phone that it's pretty easy to recommend. But for that price you're getting a phone with a bigger battery, better build quality, a better cover screen, more flexible software, and better cameras. I think the biggest miss in this generation of Razr is the lack of notable upgrades on the lower two devices, despite retaining the same price tag.

Overall, this is arguably the first true flagship foldable that you can buy. There are so few compromises to this phone that it's pretty easy to recommend. The price tag is a little on the painful side though, at $1,299.99 via Motorola on Amazon. That's a full $200 on top of Samsung's closest competition (for the next couple of months anyway). But for that price you're getting a phone with a bigger battery, better build quality, a better cover screen, more flexible software, and better cameras. That's a lot of "betters" so yes, this is an easy recommendation. Foldable phones don't come cheap, and this is the first true flagship phone that you can fold in half. That's a very big deal. I think the biggest miss in this generation of Razr is the lack of notable upgrades on the lower two devices, despite retaining the same price tag.

No other clamshell is as convenient to use while closed, and the firm’s stripped-back take on Android remains first class once you open the thing up. The new AI additions are useful without being overwhelming, too. Moto has improved the hardware in all the right places, with stellar performance, simply superb real-world battery life, and a pair of cameras that legitimately challenge for class honours. The screens are suitably top-tier, and the eclectic mix of colours and materials give it some welcome extra personality. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will have a price advantage once the Z Flip7 arrives, but I doubt it’ll compete with the Motorola on battery or outer screen usability. It’s the Razer I’d rather have in my pocket.

So, has the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 earned its 'Ultra' suffix? Based on this initial hands-on, I'd say yes. Motorola has not only doubled down on its flip-phone design leadership with exciting materials like real wood and Italian Alcantara, and refined color partnerships, but it has also decisively addressed key hardware shortcomings. The move to a true flagship processor, the doubled RAM/storage, the significantly larger battery with faster charging, and the promising, across-the-board camera sensor upgrades represent a major leap forward. The improved IP rating adds practical durability. While I can’t deliver a final verdict until I’ve had time to test this phone with a full review – especially focusing on camera performance and real-world battery endurance – the Razr Ultra 2025 feels like the most complete, comely, and compelling Razr yet.

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra (or Razr Ultra in North America) is a thoroughly excellent small foldable that could very well be the best-performing specimen of its kind that we've seen to date. Its flaws are few, the most important being the aggressive CPU throttling. It robs the phone of some of the positives of having the best Android chipset currently available, and it's seemingly an inherent limitation of the model's thermal design. Maybe the relatively low maximum brightness of the display in manual operation also stems from thermal considerations as well. Other than that, the Razr's showing is class-leading in most respects. Battery life is excellent across the board, and charging remains best-in-class, as last year. The displays can, actually, put out plenty of nits when the ambient light calls for it - also scoring higher than the rest in that test.

That’s how much the company’s Razr Ultra costs. The highest-end model in Moto’s new trio of Razr phones, the Razr Ultra promises to deliver a premium foldable experience at a premium price. It looks virtually identical to the Razr Plus (save for fancier finishes) and focuses on better specs to improve the experience. Meanwhile, the regular Razr Plus and Razr have even smaller durability and faster performance upgrades compared to the Moto Razr (2024). As the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 quickly approaches, Motorola’s latest flip phones seem ready for the competition. While the upgrades year-over-year aren’t substantial, these seem like rock-solid foldables, at least at first glance.

In a few weeks, I’ll put this phone through its paces and offer my unfiltered opinion about this handset. The Motorola Razr Ultra will be available for pre-order on the company’s website on May 7 and will be released on June 3. The base Motorola Razr will also be available for pre-order on May 7 and will launch at retailers on May 15. Canadian pricing is still unavailable.

So, has the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 earned its 'Ultra' suffix? Based on this initial hands-on, I'd say yes. Motorola has not only doubled down on its flip-phone design leadership with exciting materials like real wood and Italian Alcantara, and refined color partnerships, but it has also decisively addressed key hardware shortcomings. The move to a true flagship processor, the doubled RAM/storage, the significantly larger battery with faster charging, and the promising, across-the-board camera sensor upgrades represent a major leap forward. The improved IP rating adds practical durability. While I can’t deliver a final verdict until I’ve had time to test this phone with a full review – especially focusing on camera performance and real-world battery endurance – the Razr Ultra 2025 feels like the most complete, comely, and compelling Razr yet.

On the surface, it might not look like much has changed for the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra, but look a little deeper and there are plenty of upgrades. The design should be more durable, both internal and external displays are brighter, there’s a great selection of colour finishes on offer and there are some big battery improvements too. It needs a full review to determine if this is the flip phone to beat this year but based on my first impressions of the ultra-cute and pocketable Razr 60 Ultra, and its spec sheet, it’s certainly on the right track.

The Motorola Razr 60 Ultra (or Razr Ultra in North America) is a thoroughly excellent small foldable that could very well be the best-performing specimen of its kind that we've seen to date. Its flaws are few, the most important being the aggressive CPU throttling. It robs the phone of some of the positives of having the best Android chipset currently available, and it's seemingly an inherent limitation of the model's thermal design. Maybe the relatively low maximum brightness of the display in manual operation also stems from thermal considerations as well. Other than that, the Razr's showing is class-leading in most respects. Battery life is excellent across the board, and charging remains best-in-class, as last year. The displays can, actually, put out plenty of nits when the ambient light calls for it - also scoring higher than the rest in that test.

Motorola invited a group of reporters to midtown Manhattan to unveil the latest Razr phones, and the only question on my mind is whether you can truly justify a $1,300 flip phone in 2025. That’s how much the company’s Razr Ultra costs. The highest-end model in Moto’s new trio of Razr phones, the Razr Ultra promises to deliver a premium foldable experience at a premium price. It looks virtually identical to the Razr Plus (save for fancier finishes) and focuses on better specs to improve the experience. Meanwhile, the regular Razr Plus and Razr have even smaller durability and faster performance upgrades compared to the Moto Razr (2024). As the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 quickly approaches, Motorola’s latest flip phones seem ready for the competition. While the upgrades year-over-year aren’t substantial, these seem like rock-solid foldables, at least at first glance.

All in all, Motorola has seemingly made a pretty solid device. It looks and feels good, and while I can’t imagine myself using all of the AI features like Playlist Studio, Look and Talk and Remember, there might be some functionalities I use daily. And I’m incredibly happy to see the return of the ultrawide camera and that the phone has an even larger battery than last year’s. In a few weeks, I’ll put this phone through its paces and offer my unfiltered opinion about this handset. The Motorola Razr Ultra will be available for pre-order on the company’s website on May 7 and will be released on June 3. The base Motorola Razr will also be available for pre-order on May 7 and will launch at retailers on May 15. Canadian pricing is still unavailable.

The Razr 2024/Razr 50 brought some meaningful upgrades to the vanilla Razr last year, but the 2025 models seem to be incrementing on the model name, more than anything else. What was good about 2024 handsets is also good on the new models - the near-creaseless internal display, the large and functional cover panel, and the Moto software are all at least as good as the competition, but in many ways better. But what wasn't great on the 2024/50 hasn't gotten any better on the 2025/60 and that's rubbing us the wrong way. The chipset was underpowered last year, and it's not gotten any more powerful this year. The camera processing isn't quite up to scratch either, and it's not been improved in any meaningful way. And for some reason, we've gotten worse battery life out of the new model, despite the increase in capacity.

There are more than a few reasons to stop and think about whether the Motorola Razr 2025's compromises are worth it. Motorola's sketchy track record with software updates concerns me, and the three-year OS update promise falls short of modern expectations. Moto AI might not be as secure as you'd like, and the cover screen is less capable than the one you'll find on a Plus or Ultra model. When all is said and done, I think all these points are forgivable when you consider the Razr 2025's affordable price of entry. Paying $700 or less for a phone sure to last you at least four years is a pretty solid deal. Even if you have the money to spend on a more expensive phone, the Razr 2025 finds a value sweet spot. None of the missing features from the Plus 2025 or Ultra 2025 variants significantly hamper the experience. If I had carte blanche to choose a clamshell foldable, I'd choose the Motorola Razr 2025 because of its stellar price-to-performance ratio.

But by putting style first, this Razr does fall short against comparably priced phones when it comes to processing power and even shorter in software longevity. The Razr simply won't be for you if you value these elements of a brand-new phone, and you'd be better off with the $499 Google Pixel 9A or the $650 Samsung Galaxy S24 FE. However, the Razr is undeniably fun to use, and its $700 price is the lowest currently available for a brand-new flip-style foldable phone in the US. Motorola:

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.

Qualcomm Adreno 830: Интегрированный графический блок в SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite для смартфонов с тремя платами по 1,1 ГГц каждая. Встроенный общий кэш-память объемом 12 МБ для трех сегментов. По данным Qualcomm, на 40% быстрее, чем предыдущее поколение (Adreno 750).

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся лишь с самыми простыми играми, больше подходя для простых дел - просмотра видео в Сети и обработки документов. Плюсом можно считать скромный нагрев и расход энергии.

ARM Mali-G615 MP2: Графический чип среднего уровня для смартфонов с 2 из 6 возможных ядер. Основан на четвертом поколении архитектуры Valhall. Предлагает затенение с переменной скоростью.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:

SD 8 Elite: Высокотехнологичный SoC (System on a Chip) для смартфонов, который был представлен в конце 2024 года. В него интегрированы два быстрых ядра Oryon Gen 2 Prime с частотой до 4,32 ГГц и 6 меньших ядер Oryon Gen 2 Performance с частотой до 3,53 ГГц.

Mediatek :

Dimensity 7400X: Dimensity 7400X - это процессор среднего уровня со встроенным 5G-модемом. Процессорная часть объединяет четыре ядра ARM Cortex-A78 с частотой до 2,6 ГГц и четыре силовых ядра Cortex-A55 с частотой до 2 ГГц. По сравнению со старшей моделью 7300X, ядра A78 работают на 100 МГц чаще. SoC производится по современному 4-нм техпроцессу. По сравнению с Dimensity 7300, 7300X рассчитан на несколько дисплеев (складной).
