Тот, кто хотел купить ультракомпактный лэптоп в этом году, но дождался, когда появятся устройства на основе 10-нанометровых процессоров Intel Ice Lake, поступил правильно, и обновленная модель ASUS ZenBook 14 — отличный тому пример. В тестах быстродействия она то и дело соревнуется с более тяжелыми и крупными машинами, в которых тоже установлены интеловские CPU 10-го поколения, но уже на «старых» и не настолько эффективных кристаллах Comet Lake. Следующее крупное достоинство новинки — емкий аккумулятор и, как следствие, солидный запас времени работы без подключения к электросети. Клавиатура и тачпад ASUS ZenBook 14 — не идеал для тех, кто пишет на компьютере крупные тексты (базе корпуса все-таки не хватает жесткости), но если делать акцент на небольшом весе, то найти в продаже альтернативу с более удобными манипуляторами будет ой как непросто.

While they have certainly made some sacrifices on features that people require such as the audio jack or the lack of a dedicated GPU. The processor could have certainly been better especially for the price range of the ZenBook 14.

ASUS is asking for RM4699 for the ASUS ZenBook 14 (UX425), which is pretty reasonable for all the hardware they crammed into the machine. The battery life is good, the screen is great, keyboard is excellent and the trackpad is just exemplary. In a nutshell, it’s one fine ultraportable laptop. We can see that ASUS did put all of their knowledge into making it thinner, lighter and nicer to use, although the loss of the headphone jack is just absolutely uncalled for.

Comparisons against the older ZenBook UX434 are inevitable and the short answer is that you should pick the older ZenBook UX434 for performance and the newer ZenBook UX425 for portability. However, remember that the ZenBook UX434 doesn’t have Thunderbolt 3 ports nor does it support USB-C charging. On the other hand, the ZenBook UX425 doesn’t have a headphone jack. В ожидании появления 15-дюймовой версии, на данный момент Asus ZenBook UX425J является старшей моделью из двух вариантов свежеиспеченных ZenBook UX. Ко всем достоинствам 13-дюймового варианта в нем добавились еще более быстрый SSD и NumberPad 2.0 вместо обычного тачпада. Последний, справедливости ради, может быть и у ZenBook UX325. В результате потенциальным покупателям доступен ультрабук, не только более удобный за счет экрана увеличенной диагонали, но и более быстрый в тех операциях, которые зависят от скорости накопителя (а таковых всегда предостаточно). Только не нужно забывать про существование конфигураций с 8 ГБ оперативной памяти, которые мы бы выбирать не рекомендовали, поскольку увеличить объем памяти в этой модели нельзя.

But the spoiler is the imminent release of ultraportables—including a newer ZenBook 14—with those 11th Generation Tiger Lake CPUs. I do think that the ASUS ZenBook 14 UX425EA is a great laptop priced at RM4699. It packs a nice punch, thanks to the 11th Gen Intel Core processor under the hood. It is perfect for everyday productivity, and even some gaming if you feel like it. The only issues with it aside from the headphone jack is the non-upgradeable 8GB RAM and the relatively slow storage at this price point. But 8GB RAM is still going to be sufficient for most users, and while I consider the storage slow because I have been playing with premium SSDs, it doesn’t impact the user experience in any meaningful way. It still boots up quick enough, and I guess that’s more important to most users.

Asus:
Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.
Intel UHD Graphics G1 (Ice Lake 32 EU): Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в процессоры Intel Ice Lake серии G1. Задействует графическую архитектуру Intel одиннадцатого поколения с 32 вычислительными блоками из возможных 64. Частота работы меняется по мере роста нагрузки с минимальных 300 МГц до 1050 или 1100 МГц (частота Boost разная в зависимости от модели процессора.) Процессоры Ice Lake изготавливаются на современном 10-нанометровом производстве силами компании Intel.
Intel Iris Plus Graphics G7 (Ice Lake 64 EU): Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в отдельные процессоры Intel архитектуры Ice Lake. Задействует графическую архитектуру Intel одиннадцатого поколения с 64 кластерами вычислительных ядер (из возможных 64). Частота зависит от конкретной модели ЦП, базовая составляет 300 МГц, Boost-частота может достигать 1100 МГц. Процессоры Ice Lake и все встроенные в них компоненты изготавливаются на современном 10-нанометровом производстве компании Intel.
Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в некоторые процессоры Intel семейства Tiger Lake. Задействует новую архитектуру 12 поколения, располагает 96 кластерами унифицированных шейдеров. Intel Ice Lake:
i5-1035G1: Четырёхъядерный процессор семейства Ice Lake. Ориентирован на тонкие, лёгкие ноутбуки, процессорные ядра располагают функцией Hyper-Threading и используют архитектуру Sunny Cove, а работают с частотой 1.0...3.6 ГГц. Встроенный графический процессор, UHD Graphics G1, располагает 32 блоками EU. Рассматриваемый Core i5 изготавливается на 10-нанометровом производстве Intel и обладает частично интегрированной поддержкой Wi-Fi 6 и Thunderbolt.
i7-1065G7: Маломощный четырёхъядерный процессор на архитектуре Ice Lake. Ориентирован на тонкие, лёгкие ноутбуки. Частота ядер меняется в пределах 1.3 - 3.9 ГГц, параметр IPC (производительность на такт) должен быть на 18% выше моделей предшествующего семейства (и таким образом компенсировать снижение частот). Изготавливается компанией Intel на 10-нанометровом производстве 10nm+.
i3-1005G1: Мобильный процессор семейства Ice-Lake начального уровня с четырьмя ядрами
Intel Tiger Lake:
i7-1165G7: Четырёхъядерный процессор семейства Tiger Lake. Относится к среднему уровню производительности, ориентирован на тонкие ноутбуки; частота процессорных ядер при 28-ваттовом долговременном Power Limit равна 28 Вт, максимально достижимая частота при нагрузке на одно ядро = 4.7 ГГц. Встроенный графический процессор называется Iris Xe G7 (96 блоков EU). Рассматриваемый Core i7 изготавливается на 10-нанометровом производстве Intel во втором поколении и был вторым по производительности среди всех процессоров Tiger Lake подкласса UP3, когда Intel представила их в 2020 году.
i5-1135G7: Четырёхъядерный процессор среднего уровня для ноутбуков и планшетов. Относится к семейству Tiger Lake (подкласс UP3), изготавливается на 10-нанометровом производстве Intel во втором поколении, располагает 80-блочным видеопроцессором Iris Xe Graphics G7.
