It’s also one of the subtler gaming laptops out there, which is a welcome change after the big, bulky designs of the Acer Predator 17 and Asus ROG GL552VW.

If you would rather not be tethered to your desk and are looking for a gaming machine with a reasonable-sized screen and ample power on tap, the Gigabyte P57W delivers admirably. It's better value than the Asus ROG G752VT, and while it may not have the premium looks, the orange accents and angular design are enough of a clue to hint at the power within.

However, the Gigabyte P57x V6-CF2 has a few issues that make us hungry to see what other laptop-makers will come up with. The one serious issue is that it gets hot, and not just in areas you won’t notice. That the keyboard gets hot after a relatively short stint under pressure is a sign of flawed laptop design.

If you're not fussed about features such as an aluminum chassis or 4K (or indeed high refresh rate) display, the omission of these features helps the P57Xv6 achieve gaming performance that eclipses Maxwell-based machines that you could pick up for a similar price just a few months ago. Sure, it's expensive, but this is a portable machine that's destined to dine at the table of maxed-out 1080p gaming for some time to come.

If you want a high end gaming laptop, don’t mind dropping a couple of grand, and have a very large computer case, the P57 won’t let you down. Especially if you replace the ODD with an SSD as soon as you get it out of the box.

The Gigabyte P57Xv7-KL3K3 gets a lot of things right. It's slim, light design makes it one of the few portable desktop replacements on the market. The system's QHD display is bright, accurate and plenty vivid, and thanks to its Core i7 processor and Nvidia GTX 1070 GPU, this machine can keep pace with the big boys. And I'm a big fan of swappable drives. However, for $1,999, I want better battery life and audio quality.

The P57X isn't as extravagant as some rivals, but it offers huge power and bolsters its performance with a solid 4K screen and solid build quality. The keyboard and battery life are a little underwhelming, but this is a laptop with no major problems. That, and the reasonable price, makes it one of the best big gaming laptops on the market.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности способны на многое и подойдут для большинства игр, иногда даже при максимальных настройках и разрешениях. Чаще всего GPU "просто верхнего" уровня производительности расходуют заметно меньше энергии, чем самые-самые топовые и дорогие модели.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Mobile: Графический процессор с 2048 ядрами Pascal (GP204) и видеопамятью GDDR5.

Такой вес приемлем для производительного ноутбука с большим экраном - особенно, выпущенного несколько лет назад. Сегодня большинство производителей стремится уместить свои ноутбуки в корпуса весом от одного до двух килограммов.
