Generally speaking, my only major gripe with the unit boils down to its lackluster speakers, other than the less-than-stellar gaming performance on its battery, which is typical for laptops anyways. The sound is somewhat muffled, and the tonal range seems a bit limited. While serviceable, this is another unit where a pair of nice headphones will be a massive upgrade, but that too is to be expected. It is due to the limited space in a laptop to begin with, and the size of laptop speakers and how they are set up will never have the sound quality compare to a nice set of headphones or proper speakers. There is also the webcam—it is a 720p option with terrible image quality compared to dedicated units. At the end of the day, it feels tacked on in order to check off a box on the feature list. It does at least include a sliding cover as a privacy measure, which is a nice touch.

However, it does suffer from an patchy 1/0 option, an underwhelming keyboard and a higher price than similarly specified rivals. Indeed, it’s not tricky to find RTX 3070 laptops for less money, and sometimes with better AMD CPUs. That said, that price gets you a decent screen, solid build quality and low-noise operation. It could be cheaper, but it’s a well-built laptop if you can afford it.

I would have preferred a configuration with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage over this, but I guess GIGABYTE thinks that people appreciate more RAM over storage. With that said, you can always drop in another M.2 SSD into the GIGABYTE AORUS 15G XC to upgrade the storage, versus having to dispose of two sticks of memory because you had to upgrade the memory..

AORUS 15G получил отличный и практичный корпус, хороший игровой дисплей и качественное охлаждение — здесь тестовую модель можно только хвалить. Понравилась мне и долгая работа компьютера от аккумулятора — значит, компактный и не очень тяжелый лэптоп можно брать с собой без внешнего блока питания. А еще со временем вы без проблем модернизируете такую систему. К недоработкам AORUS 15G можно относиться по-разному — для одних пользователей они станут критичными, а другие даже не заметят этого. Например, меня вообще не беспокоит нехватка подсветки русских букв на клавиатуре, так как я уже давно печатаю текст вслепую, а к расположению и размерам определенных клавиш рано или поздно привыкаешь. Но вот отсутствие разъемов USB 3.2 Gen2 заметит любой пользователь.

Before we start we have to say something about the battery life. No matter what we did, we couldn’t get anywhere near the advertised 8 hours. We tried everything from switching to the integrated graphics only to setting the display at 60Hz and using every single battery-saving option. Given the fact that other reviews state screen on times between four and eight hours, we are keen to believe that something was wrong with our unit. With that said, we had a retail unit bought from a store, which means other users might be getting similar issues.
