The RedMagic 10 Air is stellar, and I would recommend it to anyone who really likes mobile gaming. It’s not the best at taking pictures, and it’s pretty thick, but otherwise, it’s a solid phone that runs very smoothly, with a cool design and great battery life. It’s also $729 outright, which is incredibly affordable in a country where flagships are usually more than $1,200. The one caveat we need to add to the end of this review is that it remains unclear if this phone will support voice calls on Rogers’ network due to the ongoing 3G shutdown.

I came into this review wanting to know a few things about the REDMAGIC 10 Air. I will repeat that question again here. The question is, does this quest for a slim phone negate the benefits of having a slightly chunkier device with the integrated cooling that REDMAGIC are renowned for.It is now time to answer that question, for your average phone user the answer is no the slimming of the device does not create a negative experience of the REDMAGIC experience. This phone will do everything you could need or want it to do with the possible exception of high quality zoomed photography. Yes it misses out on some features like wireless charging and display out capability but this phone is not designed for that. The phone is designed for the everyday user who might be put off by the more full-on REDMAGIC 10S Pro series.

And because it costs more than the Redmagic 10 Pro, at least at launch, I don’t believe it’s meant for the budget-conscious market, either. Instead, I think I found the perfect customer for this device: older kids. Think about it. It comes with everything a teen or tween needs. Google’s software suite is built right in. It handles gaming wonderfully. The cameras are good enough for the crazy way kids take pictures, and the speakers are perfect for YouTube. Best of all, it fits in slightly smaller hands. Plus, it won’t break the bank for those working part-time (or their parents).

It’s significantly lighter, it has a proper IP rating, so taking it out in the rain is less risky, and it offers exceptional value for money. It still runs games at an extremely high level and offers a top-notch audio-visual experience to match. If you’re looking for top performance, and your budget can’t stretch beyond the £450/$550 mark, it’s hard to think of a more capable phone. The closest is likely the Poco F7 Pro, which also utilises the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, but that’ll set you back an additional £60. It has a higher IP rating (IP68) and slightly faster charging, but beyond that, the phones are quite comparable.

All the while, the price has been slashed significantly, making for a pretty great value proposition. Sure, compared to the RedMagic 10 Pro, there are a few things missing, such as the internal fan, the 3.5mm audio jack, and the DisplayPort video output. The battery is also smaller, and the screen doesn't get as bright. And you only get last year's flagship silicon, and it only gets an IP54 ingress resistance rating. None of these is essential to the user experience, so we'd say RedMagic has done a great job of creating this slimmed-down entry in its portfolio of gaming phones.

Compared with the Pro, this more portable smartphone has made some sacrifices. For one, the Snapdragon 8 Elite has been ripped out and replaced with the older 8 Gen 3. This is still beefy enough for the Red Magic 10 Air to run Wuthering Waves on maxed out graphics, with a perfect frame rate. However, this gaming smartphone does get rather hot, especially as there's no fan stuffed inside. Likewise, the battery has a slightly reduced capacity at 6000mAh. Not to be sniffed at, but the Red Magic 10 Air can only play Wuthering Waves for under four hours before it needs a recharge.

I personally used the phone for about a week, switching fully to it from my Samsung S23 Ultra. I had to switch back because I could not hear callers unless they spoke VERY LOUDLY. I am going to reserve my opinion on call quality until i receive the replacement 10S Pro, but from looking online this should not be something you have to worry about. In addition, this phone does not support eSIM, which is kind of weird in 2025. In fact, I had to get my provider to ship me a physical SIM just so I could use it (handy anyway, I guess!) So you'll have to factor this in with traveling and so forth. OS updates do not auto-reboot the phone (which could actually be seen as a positive to some), but if you have agreed to start that process, why not go all the way, Nubia?

Even as someone who isn’t that much of a mobile gamer, I’ve still loved having the 10S Pro’s gorgeous 6.85-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen available in a pinch, and the ability to get up to two-days of use on a single charge still blows my mind, plus it’s one of the fastest phones to charge that I’ve ever tested. Overall, every upgrade point of the Red Magic 10S Pro+ is noticeable and quite practical. Performance, battery life, and charging are all pursued to the extreme, and using it to play games is a top-level enjoyment. If you are also a heavy e-sports game enthusiast, I believe it will be a good choice.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.
Qualcomm Adreno 750: Графический чип для смартфонов и планшетов, интегрированный в SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Qualcomm утверждает, что он на 25% быстрее, чем Adreno 7340 в Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, а первые бенчмарки показывают, что GPU может обойти iGPU Apple A17 Pro.
Qualcomm Adreno 830: Интегрированный графический блок в SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite для смартфонов с тремя платами по 1,1 ГГц каждая. Встроенный общий кэш-память объемом 12 МБ для трех сегментов. По данным Qualcomm, на 40% быстрее, чем предыдущее поколение (Adreno 750).

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8:
SD 8 Gen 3: Высокотехнологичная SoC для смартфонов, представленная в конце 2022 года, оснащена быстрым основным ядром на базе архитектуры ARM Cortex-X3 с тактовой частотой до 3,2 ГГц. Еще два производительных ядра основаны на A715 и также поддерживают только 64-битные приложения. Два дополнительных ядра A710 также поддерживают 32-битные приложения, как и энергосберегающие ядра Cortex-A510. Помимо процессорных ядер, в SoC интегрированы модем WiFi 7, DSP Hexagon (для ускорения искусственного интеллекта) и провайдер Spectra ISP. Встроенный контроллер памяти поддерживает быструю память LPDDR5x с частотой до 4 200 МГц. технология 5G включена в чип с модемом Snapdragon X70.
SD 8 Elite: Высокотехнологичный SoC (System on a Chip) для смартфонов, который был представлен в конце 2024 года. В него интегрированы два быстрых ядра Oryon Gen 2 Prime с частотой до 4,32 ГГц и 6 меньших ядер Oryon Gen 2 Performance с частотой до 3,53 ГГц.
