Qualcomm SD 8cx

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx - это процессор на архитектуре семейства ARM, ориентированный на планшеты и ноутбуки с Windows. Процессорные ядра в 8cx очень похожи на Snapdragon 855, но без функции Prime Core. Процессор изготавливается на 7-нанометровом производстве компании TSMC. При высокой нагрузке активны четыре производительных ядра Kryo 495 Gold (архитектура-производная от ARM Cortex-A76), все jybработают на частоте 2.84 ГГц, функции повышения частоты для одного ядра нет. Ещё четыре ядра используют архитектуру Kryo 495 Silver (ARM Cortex-A55), они активны при невысоких нагрузках и обеспечивают экономию энергии. Частота работы этого кластера: 1.9 ГГц. Разработчики Qualcomm обещают, что при длительной работе под пассивным охлаждением частоты процессора падать не будут.

8cx несёт в себе модем X24 LTE, дающий до 2 Гбит на загрузку. Ещё есть встроенная поддержка Wi-Fi 802.11ac и двухканальной 32-битной памяти LPDDR4x-1866.

Производительность

Материалы Qualcomm утверждают, что SD 8cx сравним по производительности с Intel Core i5 восьмого поколения серии U, например, i5-8250U с его 15-ваттным номинальным TDP - но только если речь идёт о специально скомпилированных приложениях. Сейчас, в 2019 - 2020 году, нативных Windows-приложений под ARM64 крайне мало. 32-битные программы x86 работают в режиме эмуляции инструкций, от чего быстродействие заметно падает. 64-битные программы x86 вообще не заработают.

Графика

Встроенный в 8cx видеопроцессор, Adreno 680, является усиленным Adreno 640 из Snapdragon 855. В трёхмерных вычислениях под управлением ОС Windows он должен быть вдвое производительнее модели Adreno 630 и на 60% энергоэффективнее. В плане игровых возможностей Adreno 680 можно условно приравнять к Intel UHD Graphics 615 или 617, за исключением несовместимости с 64-битными играми, которых сейчас большинство.

Энергопотребление

Snapdragon 8cx и все встроенные в него компоненты отличаются высокой энергоэффективностью, в том числе и за счёт современного производства компании TSMC с затвором транзистора 7 нм. Ноутбуки и планшеты с таким процессором могут охлаждаться пассивно (без вентилятора), не опасаясь значимого тротлинга, а работать от аккумулятора будут дольше, чем даже модели с 4.5-ваттными процессорами Intel Core серии Y.
