Lisa Gade reviews the spring 2020 refresh of the Dell XPS 13, model 9300. This extremely compact Ultrabook has undergone a redesign, with an even smaller footprint despite a larger 13.4” display. That display is now 16:10 aspect ratio and is available in matte, FHD and 4K resolutions. The Dell runs Windows 10 on Intel 10th gen Ice Lake U series CPUs with up to Intel Iris Plus graphics. It has Killer WiFi 6, a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, Thunderbolt 3, an M.2 NVMe SSD, up to 32GB RAM and is available in two colors.

I wish Dell would shake things up by offering more color options, and $999 is a lot to pay for a starting configuration with a Core i3 CPU. Intel UHD Graphics G1 (Ice Lake 32 EU): Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в процессоры Intel Ice Lake серии G1. Задействует графическую архитектуру Intel одиннадцатого поколения с 32 вычислительными блоками из возможных 64. Частота работы меняется по мере роста нагрузки с минимальных 300 МГц до 1050 или 1100 МГц (частота Boost разная в зависимости от модели процессора.) Процессоры Ice Lake изготавливаются на современном 10-нанометровом производстве силами компании Intel.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.

i5-1035G1: Четырёхъядерный процессор семейства Ice Lake. Ориентирован на тонкие, лёгкие ноутбуки, процессорные ядра располагают функцией Hyper-Threading и используют архитектуру Sunny Cove, а работают с частотой 1.0...3.6 ГГц. Встроенный графический процессор, UHD Graphics G1, располагает 32 блоками EU. Рассматриваемый Core i5 изготавливается на 10-нанометровом производстве Intel и обладает частично интегрированной поддержкой Wi-Fi 6 и Thunderbolt.

13.40": Этот размер экрана встречается в очень крупных планшетах и в очень портативных ноутбуках, включая как обычные, так и конвертируемые (2-в-1) модели.
