Dell’s G7 15 is a good notebook on paper, but less than ideal thermals make it a little uncomfortable to play with during long periods. You also have to consider the price: at Php 113990 it’s priced higher than many of its competitors that offer better value in terms of hardware specifications. ASUS’ own ROG Strix G G531GV for example, has the same processor, hardware and display with chassis RGB LED lighting and more SSD storage for cheaper, at Php 99,995. Likewise, Acer’s Predator Helios 300 has the same hardware specs (free memory upgrade till the 14th) for lower, at Php 99,999.

You also have to consider the price: at Php 113990 it’s priced higher than many of its competitors that offer better value in terms of hardware specifications. ASUS’ own ROG Strix G G531GV for example, has the same processor, hardware and display with chassis RGB LED lighting and more SSD storage for cheaper, at Php 99,995. Likewise, Acer’s Predator Helios 300 has the same hardware specs (free memory upgrade till the 14th) for lower, at Php 99,999.

The Dell G7 is a powerful machine. It has a clean design, with an excellent keyboard and display. The CPU and RAM config allows you to multitask with ease, and the GPU will enable you to experience NVIDIA’s ray-tracing technology. You could play most games at ultra settings, and you can take advantage of the display’s 144hz refresh rate (for esports titles). However, it does get hot – and I mean really hot. You’d have to get an external keyboard if you want to do some heavy gaming on this laptop, which defeats the purpose of getting a portable solution. Compared to other laptops that limit CPU frequency to keep cool, the Dell G7 pushes its hardware to the limits.

The only question I can’t figure out: Why’s it so expensive? The Dell G7 15 is a perfectly fine machine, but the list price of $1,730 feels steep. Even Dell’s current discount to $1,500 compares poorly to some of the GTX 1070-equipped stock still floating around the market. The Lenovo Legion Y740 we reviewed last month was discounted to $1,540 at the time of our review and boasted an RTX 2070 Max-Q for that money.

The Dell G7 15 made an impressive leap from its predecessor with its incredibly powerful performance and a gorgeous 144Hz display packed in a much slimmer package. However, its SSD is disappointingly slow, and it doesn't help that the laptop has short battery life. In the shape it's in now, the G7 15 is a great purchase at a lower price point, but its features aren't as desirable as they should be for $1,778.

All the cavilling aside regarding poor heat dissipation and the probable vulnerability of the display to physical damage, the Dell G7 7500 is a premium gaming machine, good for those who do not want to give away from their machine that they are gamers. It can double up as a great work laptop. It has got sober, neat, workstation-like looks, has a great 300Hz anti-glare display and a quite impressive audio output. The battery life is also long and can stretch on for about 4 hours when doing light tasks. Gaming is a breeze on this laptop though the heat dissipation could have been better. Again, the hinge design could be a matter of concern for those who can be quite indolent when it comes to using the laptop carefully. The laptop can run high-end games well, but at the price point of above Rs 1 lakh, the heat dissipation of the device could have been a lot more efficient.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности способны на многое и подойдут для большинства игр, иногда даже при максимальных настройках и разрешениях. Чаще всего GPU "просто верхнего" уровня производительности расходуют заметно меньше энергии, чем самые-самые топовые и дорогие модели.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q: Энергоэффективная видеокарта для тонких и легких ноутбуков, основанная на том же чипе GP106, что и полноценная ноутбучная GTX 1060, но работает на сниженных частотах. Производительность примерно на 15% ниже, но энергопотребление ниже значительно.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile: Мобильная видеокарта средне-высокого уровня на архитектуре Turing с поддержкой трассировки лучей, обладает 1920 шейдерными блоками. В сравнении с настольной версией имеет пониженные частоты ядра.

Intel Coffee Lake:
i7-8750H: Новый процессор семейства Coffee Lake создан для мощных габаритных ноутбуков. Он включает в себя 6 процессорных ядер, которые могут работать на частотах от 2.2 до 4.1 ГГц, при этом максимальная частота 4 активных ядер составляет 4 ГГц, а 6 ядер - 3.9 ГГц. Intel Comet Lake:
i7-10750H: Производительный шестиядерный процессор семейства Comet Lake, подкласса H. 75.04%: Посредственный товар. Его недостатки слишком значительны, а цена слишком велика на фоне того, что предлагается потенциальному покупателю взамен. Если есть возможность, лучше поискать более удачный вариант.
