If you’re after a relatively thin 17-inch gaming laptop with decent specs and great performance, the GIGABYTE AORUS 17G is worth considering. While it did receive an 8.4/10 overall, if you remove the camera and battery scores, this is definitely one decent gaming laptop.

The Aorus 17G is a solid hardware implementation that can achieve excellent performance, thermals, and noise levels once adequately tweaked. It also smartly focuses on the user experience, on features and ergonomics, and not on being ultra-light or ultra-compact, which is my preferred approach on a 17-inch performance notebook. However, the Ai implementation needs more work, and the design and especially the implemented mechanical keyboard will make or break this for most.

For content creation apps, such as GPU-based rendering or compute, the differences between the 155-watt RTX 3080 and the 105-watt RTX 3080 shrink to 10 to 15 percent. That’s still a noticeable performance sacrifice, but we understand if you’ll take the hit because your ears can simply no longer take it. The Gigabyte Aorus 17G is still a very fast gaming laptop, and far from the noisiest, an awfully appealing combination.

The alternate view is that most connectors should go at the rear and while we disagree, we are open to the point that this is a matter of personal taste. The keyboard and touch pad both work well. The controls feel right, they are precise and responsive and while they certainly click they don’t do it especially loudly. The problem for Gigabyte is that I expect things to be this way, so I consider an unsatisfactory keyboard to be a negative while a good keyboard is just how things ought to be. It is a similar story with the display which is nice and bright, has a good colour range and a seemingly infinite viewing angle with no hint of ghosting or other nastiness. In an ideal world the display would be 1440p however those panels seem to be very thin on the ground so it makes sense for this gaming laptop to pack a 1080p display instead.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности способны на многое и подойдут для большинства игр, иногда даже при максимальных настройках и разрешениях. Чаще всего GPU "просто верхнего" уровня производительности расходуют заметно меньше энергии, чем самые-самые топовые и дорогие модели.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q: Высококлассная видеокарта для ноутбуков. Использует видеопроцессор TU104, в котором активно 2560 ядер. По сравнению с мобильной RTX 2070 Super (обычной, не Max-Q версией) работает на сниженных частотах и потребляет меньше энергии. Номинальное тепловыделение и энергопотребление (TGP) укладывается в 80-90 ватт, намного меньше, чем типичные для "простой" мобильной RTX 2070 Super сто пятнадцать ватт.

i7-10875H: Высокопроизводительный мобильный процессор семейства Comet Lake с 8 ядрами
i7-10870H: Восьмиядерный процессор верхнего уровня производительности. Входит в семейство Comet Lake, ориентирован на большие игровые ноутбуки и портативные рабочие станции. 10870H располагает удваивающей потоки функцией Hyper-Threading; его процессорные ядра работают с базовой частотой 2.2 ГГц, максимальная Boost-частота при нагрузке на одно ядро = 5 ГГц. При нагрузке на все ядра сразу достижимы не более 4.2 ГГц. Встроенный графический адаптер называется UHD Graphics 630.
