Перед тем как написать это предложение, я полез в интернет, чтобы посмотреть, сколько сейчас стоят ноутбуки с графикой GeForce RTX 2060. Самой недорогой моделью оказался лэптоп HP Pavilion Gaming 16, в котором используются 4-ядерный Core i5-10300H и GeForce RTX 2060 в Max-Q-дизайне. В этом компьютере тоже установлены 16 Гбайт ОЗУ и 512 Гбайт накопитель, а также используется IPS-матрица среднего качества. Модели с полноценной GeForce RTX 2060 и 6-ядерным процессором Intel на сегодняшний день в среднем стоят стабильно больше 100 000 рублей, и протестированная версия Nitro 5 — это один из самых недорогих ноутбуков с 6-ядерным Comet Lake и предустановленной версией Windows 10. Более навороченные версии (с более качественным и быстрым экраном, металлическим корпусом и более эффективной СО) стоят заметно больше. Собственно говоря, хорошее сочетание «цена — производительность» является, пожалуй, главным достоинством протестированной модели, если сравнивать ее с другими ноутбуками, продающимися в России.

For the most part, this Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop is the same as before but supercharged with even more powerful components. You get great performance, 1440p display with 165Hz refresh rate, a comfortable 4-zone RGB keyboard, decent array of ports, can function as an emergency powerbank, and it finally moved towards the HDMI 2.1 standard. However, the build quality can still be improved, would be better if they made it lighter, there is slight thermal throttling, display is a little dim, and it lacks an SD card reader. At RM8,999, this may seem pricey but given what you’re getting, it does provide good value for money spent, especially since you wouldn’t need to upgrade anything further. At the end of our Acer Nitro 5 review, I award this gaming laptop with our Silver Pokdeward.

The whole picture is complemented by a good keyboard and if you pick the optional unit with RGB backlight we can call the Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-41) a complete package for gaming.

Данный игровой ноутбук от Acer уже был у нас на обзоре и на этот раз мы протестировали его конфигурацию с Nvidia RTX 3080. К сожалению, Acer выставили низкий уровень TGP для видеокарты, из-за чего частота кадров в играх заметно ниже нормы для топовой Nvidia. Недавнее обновление BIOS немного улучшает результаты, но в целом картину не меняет.
Данный игровой ноутбук от Acer уже был у нас на обзоре и на этот раз мы протестировали его конфигурацию с Nvidia RTX 3080. К сожалению, Acer выставили низкий уровень TGP для видеокарты, из-за чего частота кадров в играх заметно ниже нормы для топовой Nvidia. Недавнее обновление BIOS немного улучшает результаты, но в целом картину не меняет.

Well, the gaming laptops world updates almost every day, so research before deciding is always a good step. After research, I found this laptop to be the best in its category in terms of price point and its specs. It beats a lot of laptops, also 2000 range laptops. And there are not too many 17-inch range gaming laptops in the market. So if you are looking for an excellent gaming laptop with a larger 17-inch screen, with the newest Intel i7 CPU, beefy Graphics, and 1TB, yes 1TB (!!) SSD, this AN517-54-77KG is a really good value for its price, unless, of course, if you want to spend more.

Hardly the gaming laptop of your dreams, but this year’s Acer Nitro 5 has got a big screen and audio that are accurate if not exemplary. Its keyboard is probably the rough stone here, but you’re still able to get a perfect external gaming keyboard/mouse combo. The biggest concern with this laptop is the price. Normally, Acer Nitro is a budget line, but above one grand – even if you’re getting a 17-inch screen, this laptop is actually more than its 15.6-inch Acer Predator Helios 300 counterpart, with the same Core i7 processor, but a more powerful Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card. It remains our Editors’ Choice for midrange gaming laptops. If you’re a hardcore gamer with hardcore demands, you better look elsewhere. But if you’re on a budget – or just settling into PC gaming – and you’re willing to compromise on a few things for a big screen, the Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-77KG is definitely an option worth considering.

The latest 17.3-inch Acer Nitro 5 has the performance chops you'd want in a high-end laptop, even offering a better deal than most $2,000-plus gaming rigs. That, plus sufficient storage and a fast display panel, are its biggest upsides. Beyond those points, it's a fairly unremarkable system—the design is plain, the build has some flex, and its display quality is a bit below average. Also, while it's largely an esthetic and consumer satisfaction issue, the Nitro 5 lacks some of the style, build quality, and premium experience that you might expect from a laptop in its price range. You can bring the abovementioned competitors' prices down with lesser configurations and get a nicer build without sacrificing much power. To be sure, the Acer is a fair deal for what it offers, but we have tested more appealing options in this price tier, with our pick probably going to the Lenovo Legion 7 Gen 6.

The Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54) is a decent non-expensive offer with a 17.3″ screen. It seems the AN517-54 devices offer a lot of bang for their buck. The display options include two 1080p IPS screens with 60 Hz and 144 Hz refresh rates and there is a 1440p panel with a 165 Hz refresh rate – the latter will be a good idea if you choose the GeForce RTX 3070 (100W). In short, the Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54) is a decent non-expensive gaming laptop with a big 17.3″ screen that comes with a good keyboard and decent touchpad. It comes with great upgradability options for its price. At the end of the day, this laptop offers a lot for its money and you can configure it to a powerhouse if you choose the Intel Core i7-11800H and GeForce RTX 3070 (100W).

качественная и шустрая игровая машина с потрясающей графикой, заточенным под геймеров отзывчивым дисплеем и топовым железом. 17-дюймовый экран, тактильная клавиатура, хорошее качество звука, мощный процессор и одна из лучших видеокарт с полноценным питанием в 330W делают свое дело – ноутбук справляется с любыми возложенными на него задачами. Из минусов стоит отметить только вес и размеры ноутбука, а также низкую яркость дисплея. Ну и конечно за высокую производительность и огромный, по меркам ноутбуков, дисплей приходится расплачиваться не только большими габаритами, но и собственными средствами, ведь ценник Acer Nitro 5 в обзорной конфигурации достигает $2860. Не будем рассуждать о том насколько целесообразным является трата таких средств на геймерский ноутбук в военное время и с текущим курсом доллара, но стоимость девайса заставляет задуматься об альтернативах, несмотря на то, что Nitro 5 это действительно качественный ноутбук, покрывающий львиную долю потребностей пользователя на несколько лет вперед.

Given the weird cooling behavior in processor loads, we wouldn’t count on the Nitro 5 to be always there for us in CPU-intensive scenarios. On the other hand, the machine is extremely stable during gaming, and when you combine this with the fantastic 1440p display, you will get probably the best gaming experience for the money. So, would we recommend the Nitro 5 (AN517-55)? Well, yes, we would. There is a couple of stuff we don’t really like, especially the super loud noise coming from the fans. However, it is present mainly when you use the “Performance” preset in the NitroSense app. And to be honest, if you get an RTX 3070 Ti, you wouldn’t really need to use that mode, because the GPU is still one of the most powerful ones out there. Especially in its 150W iteration.

It's annoying that Acer has heard our gripes about the Nitro 5's hard-to-read keyboard for years without fixing it, but the laptop has otherwise shown steady improvement, moving from the 30fps to 60fps threshold and now taking a step nearer the big leagues with a 144Hz display. Unfortunately, the competition has improved too—it's easier to stand out in the $700 or $800 segment than the fierce, crowded $1,100 or $1,200 arena. We still like the Nitro 5, but it's no longer our first pick.

While it might not seem so at a first glance, Acer have much improved the 2022 Nitro 5 series in quite a few ways compared to the previous generations. They've tweaked some of the design lines and ergonomics, included some good screen options, beefed up the power settings and the cooling module, added up a 90Wh battery, as well as updated the internal specs to the latest available today. These make the Intel configuration reviewed here a powerful implementation in its class, and a proper alternative for what is still most likely the better-balanced AMD variant also available in this chassis.

As you have just read (unless you skipped to the end), the Acer Nitro 5 AN517 is not without its faults. But every budget laptop makes a few missteps and none of our issues with this 17.3-inch Nitro 5 are deal breakers. Sure, the plastic chassis is clunky, the display isn’t the brightest, the keyboard is only so-so, the touchpad is tiny, and the webcam is terrible. These design drawbacks are what you must tolerate for the bang that this Nitro 5 provides for your gaming buck. At its core, the Nitro 5’s CPU-GPU pairing of the Ryzen 7 6800H and RTX 3060 graphics allow it to hang with pricier gaming laptops. If you're not into consoles, the Acer Nitro 5 is a brilliant gaming laptop alternative. As long as you keep it plugged in and aren't looking to go crazy with settings, you'll have no problems running the latest games and playing at a steady framerate. It's the best of PC gaming without the biggest of price tags. If you want to run Cyberpunk 2077 at top specs this isn't the one for you, but for students looking to balance work and play, or who want to join their PC gaming friends, the Nitro 5 is not to be missed.

As with previous Nitro laptops, there’s a sense that Acer has hit the nail right on the head. Together, the Core i5 CPU and RTX 4050 do a great job of hitting good frame rates on the latest games at 1080p, with DLSS 3 in the wings if you want to enable ray tracing or if games grow more demanding in a few year’s time. Of course, Acer hasn’t got this market all to itself, and the Gigabyte G5 is a tempting alternative at a similar price. However, despite its RTX 4060 GPU the G5 isn’t actually much faster in games, and it can’t beat the Nitro where its weakest – its screen – because its own display isn’t significantly better. The MSI GF63 Thin is slimmer with slightly better battery life, but it has similar screen issues and the performance isn’t in the same class. For my money, that makes the Nitro 5 a real contender, provided you can live with the underwhelming brightness levels of the screen.
