Достоинством модели однозначно можно назвать 240-Гц IPS-дисплей с отличным цветовым охватом 96% sRGB – кроме игр, он вполне подойдёт для обработки фото/видео контента (благо, что мощности для этого хватит). Отметить стоит и новый дизайн TUF. Он определённо улучшился, вдобавок ASUS TUF FX516PR получил наполовину металлический корпус, защищённый по военно-промышленному стандарту MIL-STD-810H. Неплохие показатели у ноутбука по автономности, доступен также Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 с возможностью подключения внешних устройств и зарядки мощностью до 100 Вт, а также в целом хороший набор интерфейсов. Радует и возможность апгрейда ноутбука – доступен один слот оперативной памяти и M.2 разъём для дополнительного SSD 2280.

It has one of the slowest RTX 3070 laptop implementations we’ve seen, the CPU isn’t great in multi-threaded software and the Asus has inconsistent thermal performance and underwhelming speakers. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. The Asus is a capable everyday laptop, but spending more will buy you better performance and quality.

The ASUS TUF Dash F15 is one of the most interesting laptops in the series so far. It’s the company’s solution to provide people with mobility, functionality, and durability all at a relatively affordable price. Although it’s not without any problems of its own, it still checks the boxes with its good performance, great battery life, and aesthetically pleasing form factor. If there are things that could be improved, it would certainly be the addition of a built-in webcam, so we could at least have biometric login and maybe a more neutral backlight color for a more professional look. But at this price along with its performance, there’s not much to complain about other than that. Sadly this particular configuration is not available in the Philippines, but at least we get a sneak peek of what the ASUS TUF Dash F15 is fully capable of.

Stylish, compact, powerful and with all the little refinements that separate a good gaming laptop from the notebook herd, the Asus TUF Dash F15 has it all. A webcam would have been nice and a less dull display than the 144Hz panel that adorns the RTX 3080 laptop would have been better, too, but when those are the only criticisms you can make you know you’ve got a pretty decent product on your hands. This is a bummer in the times we live, and we can’t tell why ASUS hasn’t done their best to put one, or at least include one in a bundle. Also, the laptop gets pretty loud and hot on the outside, so we would advise an external keyboard, and a good set of headphones.

Having used the TUF Dash F15 for the last weeks, it kind of grew on me. It proved to be a snappy and efficient daily multitasker, as well as a better gamer than I expected from a laptop built on a 4Core platform in 2021. Yes, the 4C Tiger Lake H35 processor is a tough sell, but it will make sense later in the year once this series is available with mid-tier Ampere graphics and at more affordable prices. And that's because this can truly game, with minor performance bottlenecks in the recent AAA games, but also because it's a well-balanced package, ticking the right boxes when it comes to the design, screens, inputs, connectivity, and thermals/noise levels. We'll get in-depth on all these aspects in the detailed review down below.

That said, the TUF Dash F15’s gaming performance is only status quo with last-generation gaming notebooks since its GPU is constrained to a low power level; from what we are seeing in the early going, not all RTX 3070 notebooks are created equal. At least it runs relatively cool and quiet. Value-wise, our $1,699 test model looks great in white, but it’s pricey next to the dark gray $1,449 Best Buy model that offers nearly identical features. The entry-level $1,099 Best Buy model looks like an even better value. If you do decide to go TUF, just remember to also budget for an external webcam.
