I’m still kinda bummed that we didn’t get an OLED display this year as previously rumored but Xiaomi’s latest midrange tablet hits just right. And if you’re looking to spend like NPR 50,000 rupees on a brand-new tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 7 is easily the best option in Nepal. The thing is, this segment doesn’t even have much competition to begin with. There’s the 11th Gen iPad (review) and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 FE (review) if you’re willing to extend your budget by 40 – 80%.

The software is always my biggest bug-bear with Xiaomi products and the main reason that I so rarely rate any of them above four stars. To be clear though, it’s not unusable by any stretch. If you want a cheap Android tablet that rivals the entry-level iPad, it’s still worth getting the Xiaomi Pad 7. The software is frustrating in places but you’ll soon get used to it. And everything else about the Xiaomi Pad 7 more than makes up for those teething problems. The performance is speedy enough to rival tablets that cost over £100 more, the display is sharp, bright and colour-accurate, battery life is some of the best around and the aluminium build is both sleek and sturdy. For this bargain price, you won’t find better than the Xiaomi Pad 7.

I’m still kinda bummed that we didn’t get an OLED display this year as previously rumored but Xiaomi’s latest midrange tablet hits just right. And if you’re looking to spend 25 – 30,000 Indian rupees on a brand-new tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 7 is easily the best option out there. The thing is, this segment doesn’t even have much competition to begin with. There’s the 10th Gen iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S9 FE (review) if you’re willing to extend your budget to some 35,000 rupees.

We can also recommend getting the bundle of the 12/512GB model with the Pro Focus keyboard for €550 as this is a nice deal as well. We liked the Pad 7 Pro screen even if it's not an OLED and even if we never saw the advertised 144Hz refresh rate in action. The panel has a high resolution, smooth animations and is quite bright. Dolby Vision and HDR10 content are supported and we enjoyed watching clips and movies in HDR.Android 15 with HyperOS 2 is a potentially capable combination that offers plenty of features and AI options to get you started.

On its lonesome, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro delivers plenty for the money. Performance is convincing, battery life is superb, and the display packs in more pixels than virtually anything else at this price point. Xiaomi’s tablet-specific tweaks to Android are well thought out, and the way it slots into the firm’s wider ecosystem is practically seamless. Accessories are what makes a tablet more than just an oversized smartphone, and Xiaomi has duly delivered here. The Focus Keyboard in particular is a delight to type on and turns the Pad 7 Pro into a portable productivity powerhouse. That does bump the price, of course, and if you shop around you’ll find rivals often bundle their keyboards for similar money. On its lonesome, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro delivers plenty for the money. Performance is convincing, battery life is superb, and the display packs in more pixels than virtually anything else at this price point. Xiaomi’s tablet-specific tweaks to Android are well thought out, and the way it slots into the firm’s wider ecosystem is practically seamless. Accessories are what makes a tablet more than just an oversized smartphone, and Xiaomi has duly delivered here. The Focus Keyboard in particular is a delight to type on and turns the Pad 7 Pro into a portable productivity powerhouse. That does bump the price, of course, and if you shop around you’ll find rivals often bundle their keyboards for similar money. By itself, the lack of OLED tech might be a downer for streaming aficionados. Creators with specific software use cases might also find Android’s app selection more modest than Apple’s iPad OS, but they’ll need to pay considerably more than this in order to get them.

Xiaomi:

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.

Qualcomm Adreno 732: Qualcomm Adreno 732 - это интегрированный графический блок, который используется в Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Производительность немного выше, чем у более старой модели Adreno 730.

Qualcomm Adreno 735: Графический чип для смартфонов и планшетов, интегрированный в SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

ARM Immortalis-G925 MC16: Высокотехнологичный графический чип для смартфонов с 16 из 24 возможных ядер. Основан на архитектуре "5-го поколения" (преемник Valhall), включая Variable Rate Shading (VRS) и Ray Racing.

Qualcomm Snapdragon:

SD 8s Gen 3: Высокотехнологичный SoC (System on a Chip) для смартфонов, который был представлен в 2024 году. Среди прочего, в него интегрированы быстрое ядро Cortex-X4 "Prime Core" с частотой до 3 ГГц и 4 дополнительных быстрых ядра Cortex-A720 с частотой 2,8 ГГц. Для экономии энергии также установлены 3 дополнительных ядра ARM Cortex-A520 с частотой 2,3 ГГц. Интегрированы модем 5G, WiFi 7 и значительно более быстрый движок искусственного интеллекта.

В данном случае установлены 2 ядра ARM Cortex-X925 с частотой до 3,9 ГГц, 4 ядра Cortex-A725 с частотой до 3,4 ГГц, 2 ядра A725 с более медленной тактовой частотой 1,9 ГГц и 2 маленьких Cortex-A520 с частотой до 1,8 ГГц.
