The Razer Blade 17 provides excellent performance and gorgeous visuals, albeit for a lot of money. In terms of performance, it's similar to its close competitors — although said competitors don't offer full 4K screens, so you'll have to take that into account. If you're in the market for a powerful 17-inch gaming laptop, the Alienware m17 R4 is also worth considering, as is the Maingear Vector Pro. But there's something undeniably stylish about the Razer Blade 17's design, and you'll get good performance for both work and play.

However, this laptop is also absurdly expensive, with the high-end configuration costing more than £4000. At such a cost, it’s worth considering whether you’re better off with a desktop PC, especially since the Blade 17 is too heavy for on-the-go gaming. The Alienware x17 R2 (2022) is a great alternative, offering similar specs and a lower price; but if you’re committed to the Razer brand, the Blade 17 remains a terrific option.

The immaculate build quality, powerful underpinnings and outstanding sound system make this a laptop that can perform any task with alacrity. Unless the super-sharp 4K display is a must, I’d suggest going for the QHD 240Hz model, which is £400 cheaper than the otherwise identical 4K model – and gamers get access to G-Sync with the other variants as well. Either way, the end result is a massively impressive bit of kit, even if you need to fork out a hefty sum for the privilege.
