Не так давно мы писали о флагманском планшете ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime (см. обзор на [email protected]), который стал первым 4-ядерным планшетом в мире. Сейчас же хотим рассказать о его удешевленной (но это не значит, что ухудшенной) версии - Transformer Pad TF300. Он очень похож на Prime, с той лишь разницей, что сделан не из металла, а из пластика (это минус), но есть и версия планшета с 3G и с LTE (это плюс). Все остальное более или менее осталось прежним: 4-ядерная платформа NVIDIA Tegra 3, IPS-экран, Android 4.0 и прочее.

The Transformer Pad is a brilliant device and comes with a keyboard dock giving your tablet the utility of a netbook. It is however a little hard to recommend the Asus Transformer Pad TF300TG. For Rs. 35,000 you get the Samsung Galaxy Note 800, which is an equally brilliant device (although the build quality is a little poorer than the Transformer Pad) and comes with Samsung's S-Pen. It doesn't come with a keyboard dock though. If you are going to pick up a premium tablet, then why not go in for the iPad? It still has the best design, build and app ecosystem out there. If you are a fan of Asus products or want a netbook replacement then you can consider this device. Although an iPad with a Logitech keyboard case would be a better option.

Here we have the slightly less expensive version of the most well-rounded and powerful Android tablet on the planet. The qualities that allow this model to cost significantly less than its bigger brother are not bothersome to me, and I see no reason, save for one, why a person wouldn’t just go with this TF300 model over the Transformer Prime. That reason is, of course, the flash for the camera – I think it’s safe to say that most people don’t use their tablet as their primary photo and video machine, but if they do, that little LED can make or break a purchase.

But it seems like a placeholder while we wait for the Infinity Prime, with its 1080p high-resolution display. Much like Samsung with its Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) ($249.99, 4 stars), Asus is concentrating on affordability, rather than major spec upgrades. At $379 for the 16GB model, with the fastest processor available, the latest version of Android, and a versatile add-on keyboard dock, the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is an attractive package. It's certainly among the best non-Apple tablets available today, but we're still on the lookout for an Android tablet that can top the iPad.

And more affordable. What’s not to like about that? Great screen resolution, solid battery life, and all-round sturdy build quality given the price point are obvious plus points. There’s a lot to be happy about. Whether you choose to use it as a tablet-only device - and it is lighter than the original iPad - or a sort-of laptop replacement with the keyboard dock, there’s a lot of life to get from the TF701. This is Android taking on Windows 8.1 RT Surface 2 territory and, for our tastes, winning. We’ve found the keyboard-docked Android device to work a treat for the most part thanks to 1.9Ghz Tegra 4 that is powerful enough to deliver for those daily needs.

Previous generations of Asus Transformer tablets felt like beta versions of a brilliant concept – the Prime’s connectivity issues and the Infinity’s slightly underpowered Tegra 3 processor left them struggling to realise the potential of the tabbook form factor. Once you’re done with work, it’s plenty powerful enough, and just about portable enough, to go toe-to-toe with the top tier of Android tabs as a gaming and media device, too. If you can get past its large bezels and slightly hefty weight and are looking for a tablet for work as much as play, then you can’t go wrong with Asus’ best hybrid yet.

Комментарий

Asus:

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности совершенно не подходят для игр. Скорее всего, даже в повседневных делах пользователь столкнётся с ограничениями, такими, как отсутствие аппаратного декодирования видео или невозможность подключения монитора с актуальным разрешением.

NVIDIA GeForce ULP (Tegra 3): Видеокарта со сверхнизким энергопотреблением, интегрированная в SoC Tegra 3. Эта GPU похожа на видеокарту Tegra 2, но с дополнительными пиксельными шейдерами и некоторыми улучшениями.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся лишь с самыми простыми играми, больше подходя для простых дел - просмотра видео в Сети и обработки документов. Плюсом можно считать скромный нагрев и расход энергии.

Intel HD Graphics 4000: Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в некоторые центральные процессоры Intel семейства Ivy Bridge. Поддерживает DirectX 11, располагает 16 блоками EU, изготавливается на 22-нанометровом производстве. Располагает разной максимальной Boost-частотой в зависимости от конкретной модели центрального процессора, что заметно влияет на производительность.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности практически не подходят дли игр, но справятся с самыми простыми делами, вроде отображения 2D-материала на экране умеренного разрешения.

NVIDIA GeForce Tegra 4: Графическое ядро, интегрированное в процессор Tegra 4, имеет 48 пиксельных и 24 вертексных шейдера заместо унифицированных вычислительных ядер.

NVIDIA Tegra:

3: Мощный чип для планшетов и больших смартфонов, состоящий из процессора с четыремя главными ядрами ARM Cortex A9 и дополнительным энергосберегающим ядром, а также видеоадаптера GeForce ULP, основанном на устаревшем GeForce 7.

4: "4-плюс-1" процессор Cortex A15 и видеокарта GeForce с 72 ядрами на одном чипе.

3517U: Intel Core i7-3517U - это быстрый двухъядерный мобильный процессор архитектуры Ivy Bridge, представленный в 2012 году.
