Что сказать, по большому счету iPad mini 3 практически ничем не отличается от предыдущей линейки с Retina-дисплеем. Появился сканер Touch ID, новый золотистый цвет корпуса, немного перетасовали варианты планшетов по объему встроенной памяти, по сравнению со вторым поколением (хм, а может компания Apple специально сократила доступные модификации флеш-памяти iPad mini 2, чтобы обозначить преимущества iPad mini 3?). Ах да, и не забыть бы про ценник, выросший практически на $100. Вопреки традициям компании Apple, которая уж если выпускает новинку, то это действительно новинка с какими-то революционными характеристиками или новыми фитчами, с iPad mini 3 такой номер не прошел. Да, это один из самых достойных экземпляров в своей нише, однако вопрос «а стоит ли платить больше?» остается открытым, хотя ответ весьма предсказуем...

Корпус iMac стал еще тоньше, однако это известная хитрость. Apple стабильно уменьшает толщину по краям корпуса, в то время как центральная часть остается довольно толстой. Ну и потом, это же стационарный компьютер, а значит, изменения в «объеме талии» вообще отходят на второй план. Да, добавлю, что внутри в базовой версии стоит процессор Intel Core i5 с четырьмя ядрами и частотой 3,5 ГГц, а также 8 ГБ оперативной памяти и гибридный накопитель Fusion Drive. Конфигурировать iMac можно будет очень гибко, но об этом мы расскажем уже в обзоре. Пока же стоит добавить только, что в России iMac с Retina-дисплеем будет стоить чуть дороже 120 тысяч рублей. За дополнительные навороты нужно будет доплачивать, так что iMac мечты вполне может потянуть и на 200 тысяч рублей.

The iPad mini 4 is the “best” iPad mini, but that’s from a technical standpoint. If you’re happy to trade off performance, screen quality, camera quality, and a Touch ID sensor (plus the more subtle differences in the table) then the £100 saving on the iPad mini 2 means it could be the one for you. The upgrades arguably make the mini 4 worth that extra £100 and it will no doubt be a more future-proof purchase if you care about being able to upgrade to the latest version of iOS. We expect the mini 4 to get at least the next two versions – iOS 10 and iOS 11. The iPad mini 3 is only a good deal if you can find a refurbished model at a low price – i.e. not much more than the equivalent iPad mini 2.

Plainly put, if we shift focus to determine the winner in a bang-for-the-buck perspective, the Nexus 7 is the tablet to beat. Also important to note that many have invested heavily into either the iOS or Android ecosystems, I would always recommend leaning toward the tablet that is from the ecosystem you’ve previously invested in, unless you are in the mood for a new way of doing things. It’s even tougher to swallow knowing that it doesn’t see any major improvements, or differences, with its own predecessor. Flipping it around, the $500 cost of the iPad Air 2 makes plenty of sense, since it’s boasting the better internals and performance. At the same time, we have to point out that the iPad Air 2’s larger size makes it more ideal for certain things – such as typing up documents, surfing the web, and watching videos. And best of all, it’s incredibly thin with its construction!

Apple made some questionable decisions with the iPad Mini 3 as the device is really just the same as the iPad Mini 2 but with the TouchID sensor built into it. This makes it a very hard choice to recommend based on its performance and pricing. You essentially will pay $100 just for the TouchID sensor and the change for a gold color. Buyer's would be better off to look at the previous iPad Mini 2 or the iPad Air.

Apple hasn't delivered anything new – you can get essentially the same tablet for a lot less in the iPad mini 2. Which begs the question: why should anyone buy the iPad mini 3? The main surprise Apple has thrown here is keeping the iPad mini 2 on sale. It's a good tablet made great with a much lower price point, and everything the mini 3 has going for it is packed into that model... and it's cheaper. If you've simply GOT to have the best tech and money is no object, the mini 3 is still one of, if not the, best smaller tablets on the market, despite the ageing components. But if you fancy slinging that extra cash on a new jacket or just having a super night out, you won't notice the difference between the two for a long while yet.

The iPad mini 3 isn't a bad tablet. It's got a great OS, new features and is still attractively designed. It's just all these features are available on the mini 2 for a lot less money. Touch ID is a nice feature, but it's not enough to justify recommending this tablet. I can't see Apple Pay taking off to the point in the next year where you HAVE to have Touch ID in your life, and apps that really take advantage aren't here yet.

Imagination PowerVR G6430: Четырехъядерный видеоадаптер для ARM-чипов, поддерживающий OpenGL 4.x и ES 3.0.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности практически не подходят дли игр, но справятся с самыми простыми делами, вроде отображения 2D-материала на экране умеренного разрешения.
