At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410. Last but not least comes the build quality. As an overall execution, it is good. However, the materials used are not great – soft plastic, which bends a lot when twisted or pressed. Unfortunately, this is an issue with all laptops in this price range. In this case, things are further complicated by the short key travel of the keyboard, which doesn’t combine well with the bendy base. Overall, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is for people who need a laptop. If you make sure you get at least 8GB of RAM and an IPS panel you will be pretty happy with your purchase. Everything else about this laptop is actually very good. Still, I wouldn’t mind if Lenovo increased the price of this laptop by a little just so that we can get a 1080p IPS LCD screen. Doesn’t have to be the most color accurate screen, but that viewing angle is important. But, we are planning another video talking about how to upgrade your laptop’s screen.
