70% Dell XPS 13 (late 2019) review: the one with six cores

The six-core XPS 13 is a strange computer. It feels like a holdover until something better is available in both design and internals. That first part probably isn’t too far off, since CES 2020 is just about a month away, but it’s hard to say how long it will be before Intel introduces Ice Lake chips that have six cores, a 10-nanometer die, and the improved Iris Plus Graphics. Once that happens, then we’ll have some real performance jumps in the thin and light category to celebrate.

Now that that’s played itself out, the new XPS 13 easily cements itself as one of the best professional work laptops you can buy. It’s got an effortlessly beautiful display, premium-yet-prepared design smarts and delivers close to the best performance in a laptop of its class. You just have to be willing to make the jump to USB Type-C. If you are, I doubt that there’s any aspect of the Dell XPS 13 that’s going to disappoint.

Intel UHD Graphics 620: Встраиваемый в центральные процессоры Intel Kaby Lake Refresh графический процессор (GT2, 24 вычислительных ядра). Встраивается в 15-ваттовые процессоры. Очень схож с графикой из прошлого поколения процессоров, Kaby Lake, по имени HD Graphics 620.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности справятся со многими играми, если не гнаться за максимальным разрешением и качеством картинки. Сравнительно умеренное энергопотребление таких GPU обеспечит увеличение времени автономной работы.

i5-10210U: Энергоэффективный мобильный четырехъядерный процессор Intel

13.30": Этот размер экрана встречается в очень крупных планшетах и в очень портативных ноутбуках, включая как обычные, так и конвертируемые (2-в-1) модели. За счёт масштабирования от опер. системы, содержимое такого экрана можно сделать достаточно удобным для чтения, и это при сохранении относительной портативности и умеренного расхода энергии.

1.29 килог.: Самый обычный вес для современного ноутбука с экраном от 13 до 16 дюймов, как правило, без дискретной видеокарты.
