We’ve reached the final leg of the Leap’s review with an air of surprise surrounding us. On paper the BlackBerry Leap appears to be a little unimaginative from a design perspective, conservative from a hardware perspective and out of touch with regards to its software, but pair all these off-kilter elements together and miraculously they make a respectable, solid smartphone overall.

Conceived as a more affordable alternative to the Z30, the BlackBerry Leap doesn't really manage to exceed the sum of its parts. On the other hand losing the AMOLED panel for a traditional LCD screen and employing the older Adreno 225, allowed the new handset to bring the price down and bring much of the same experience at a more attractive price point.

The Leap is yet another sturdy handset from BlackBerry that runs the latest BB OS. The phone improves upon the relatively cheaper Z3 in many aspects such as camera, display, and RAM. However, the said upgrades are not significant to justify the Rs 8000 difference between the two. The Z3 now sells for Rs 12,000, as compared to the Leap's Rs 20,000 price tag.

Overall, I liked the Blackberry Leap for its simplicity in design and functionality. The battery performance is the best thing I liked about it- something that Android smartphones suffer from. A true leap for those who want to try out a Blackberry or jump from the older generation Blackberry devices.

Viewed in isolation, the BlackBerry Leap isn't a terrible device; there's just nothing particularly exciting about it. The design is unimaginative, largely borrowed from the lesser-known BlackBerry Z3, and its size can make it cumbersome to use at times. And, for every positive note, there's always a "but." You wouldn't expect any better or worse than a 720p display on this tier of device, but the quality of the Leap's panel is poor.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности совершенно не подходят для игр. Скорее всего, даже в повседневных делах пользователь столкнётся с ограничениями, такими, как отсутствие аппаратного декодирования видео или невозможность подключения монитора с актуальным разрешением.
