Just as happened when I tested its predecessor, my feelings about the Switch 11 changed during use. The initial grumbles at the low benchmark scores were put to one side when it handled a 1080p video with ease, bearing in mind the price tag is still lower than Apple's starting price for a 16GB iPad Air 2.

Acer has a winner with its new Aspire Switch 11. This laptop is attractive to behold, and the screen quality is excellent. Both of these are coupled with a solid design allowing the machine to be the best of both worlds -- when using it as a laptop, you'd hardly realize it's really a tablet attached to a keyboard. And when used as a tablet, it stands out among many Windows slates with thanks, again, to its design.

Sure, there’s some parts of the Acer Switch 11 which don’t feel quite as “tight” as they should be. The trackpad didn’t seem to be as sensitive as I’m used to and the build quality in some areas could’ve been slightly better, but at the price, for what you’re getting here, it’s really rather good. I’ve got the full Windows 8.1 OS, I’ve got a neat touch-screen interface and the full-fat desktop OS. There’s 32GB of storage to play with, but you can slot in memory sticks and use cloud storage if you want to store files elsewhere and it operated quickly and quietly, without complaint.

The Aspire Switch 11 isn't the most exciting device. It has a dull design and middling internal specifications, and offers the average performance you'd expect from a sub-£400 device. That said, there are a few positives, chief of which are the robust design and above average battery.

It’s worth considering if you’re in the market for a cheap, versatile machine that lets you casually browse the web and watch TV shows and movies without issue. As hybrids go, it’s relatively unremarkable, but the multi-mode hinge is a killer feature lacking in similarly priced and even more expensive models, and battery life is good.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): Видеопроцессор, встраиваемый в процессоры Intel семейства Bay Trail (ориентированы на планшеты и ноутбуки). Архитектурно схож с видеопроцессорами из процессоров Intel семейства Ivy Bridge. Располагает 4 блоками EU, совместим с DX 11.

Графические процессоры этой категории производительности практически не подходят дли игр, но справятся с самыми простыми делами, вроде отображения 2D-материала на экране умеренного разрешения.

Z3745: Чип, состоящий из четырехъдерного процессора Atom, видеокарты Intel HD Graphics и двухканального контроллера памяти LPDDR3-1067.
